This seems to be the place for predictions.
So here's mine:
If Anoka wins this thing I PREDICT a firestorm of threads questioning why a suburban team was thrust into this northern stronghold.

No challenge, that's already been questioned.

Its either a conspiracy or because Crookston, DM, or Bemidji didn't opted up.
I like the conspiracy.

Let's not forget Hermantown. You know, the champions of the Little Class.

1. East
Yes, they all lost talent, but East lost the least and there wasn't exactly an obvious talent gap between East and Rapids last year. The brutal schedule will prepare them for another run at the top. Having the section playoffs in their home arena doens't hurt either.
2. CEC
The stars may be gone, but the defense is excellent and Jokinen can carry a team. They're always in the picture. I suppose I'd like my senior year to end in an East-Cloquet matchup one last time, though.
3. Anoka
They're a very interesting team and return a lot, but I'm not entirely convinced they were on the level of the traditional section powers to begin with. Playing the section tournament in Duluth does not help them one bit.
4. Grand Rapids
I expect them to struggle a bit early on as they put themselves back together, but come section tournament time they'll be as dangerous as anyone. Not to be taken lightly, even if they aren't as talented as the others.
5. Elk River
I don't see them as a serious threat this year.

section7hockey.com has a nice preview of the upcoming 7AA season. Very well written and very accurate I think.

Two thumbs up for the site already on the favorite bar. I haven't fiddle with it much....does it still have the school songs. Neat touch on the old one.

I'll bite. Although it's still early, and I've actually only seen 4 of the teams in the section play, I'll stick to my guns.
1. GR - still showing they're a big game club
2. DE - whatever
3. CEC - up and down rollercoaster
4. A - hearing mixed emotions about this team. January matchup with Indians will tell us more.
5. FL - early season upsets does not a contender make
6-9. Does it matter?

What!!!! No love for the ex-IFaller...BIAFP?
Reminds me of the time Tweeter was coaching Bantams I told him to watch out for the home cookin' and he tells me "Hey, no problem....I'm an old I Falls guy"...my response was they won't remember you...and they didn't.
