That was an excellent selection as well Chrisk, and very fitting to the topic.
However I do think this next submission truly captures the spirit of the thread.

Well, what a weekend.
The Gophers split up in ND. Gosh, what a torrid pace they are on. If they keep splitting series like they have, they could finish .500 or so. I'll tell yah, that Lucia guy could coach a bunch of orphans and do well.
The Wild came within a touchdown of the Red Wings which is great. Its good to see they can play the best teams so close.
But our Vikings are the dreamboats of the town again. Just as that dreamer elliott predicted, they are in the thick of the playoff hunt needing only a couple of home wins to nail down that last spot...in the rough and tumble NFC no less.
With all this great news how can anyone be blue

I agree things are looking great!
The purple are cleaning up on three win teams with a steady diet of sub .500’s on deck.
Tubby and the boys are running roughshod through land grant universities from California to the Dakotas while Iowa, NW, Penn St., Ohio State, Michigan keep falling to
LA-Monroe, Butler, Harvard, Brown, and Rider.
My Pirates are taking teams to the 3rd period with the game still in the balance
The Twins are just 2 big bats away from competing with teams who can nip at the heels of Detroit.
The Wolves are only 12 below “all square” thanks to their big win over Phoenix.
With all there is to see and do.

I saw that the Pirates narrowly lost to the Govs' beloved east siders.
Thats a long bus ride for those boys and a great effort.
I havent heard much from Govs lately and especially after the SSP game. Hmmm.
Well anyways, there are a few very good teams this year and no great ones that I know of.
I saw that Burnsville took Edina into OT. Maybe a little too early to be handing the title to anybody.
Although there are maybe 2 or 3 teams at the top, nothing is given this year.
Its a roll of the dice , flip of the coin, anybodys ballgame, there for the taking type of season. .....I cant think of any other phrases to describe it.
Its a scenerio that really is like ,, well, "Its Like a Dream Come True"

Looks like somebody is wearing their right-wing blinders and only seeing what the want to see. I've been around plenty. Hell, I was the one delivering the
blow-by-blow accounts of that fiasco. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out to the game against the Priates, but it sounds like it was a hell of a game.

Govs, too bad the refs had to take SSP's side in the Packer-Governor tilt, it might help if you smuggled a case of beer into their locker room. When's the big Como-Johnson battle for St.Paul?
All I have to say is getting the chance to get out on some naturally frozen ice outside this weekend, it's "Like a Dream Come True". Coupled with the chance to see hockey almost every night of the week this time of year is truly "Like a Dream Come True".
Packerboy, are you planning on trademarking that phrase?

Round 1 in the "Brawl For St. Paul" is 1/16/07 at the Coliseum. Round 2 is 2/13/07 at Phalen.
Too bad it's not sooner, because both clubs are smokin' hot having each won two games now! It wouldn't surprise me to see the Govs be able to add 2 more games to the win streak as well - they've got a couple of softballs this week - one of them against a Catholic co-op which should make it even more fun -
It's going to be like a dream come true!

You boys are in good form.
But Govs, if they Catholic, they will be tough no matter what.
I have been bored with Monday Night Football for quite a while. The quality of the games has fallen off as well as the broadcast crew.
So, being able to watch an all Catholic hockey battle tonight at 7:30 on FSN is a great deal on a cold night.
Should be a good game. I understand Holy Communion will be distributed between the 2nd and 3rd periods right after chuckapuck.
Ive heard that if you look closely at the ice between the red line and blue line a very distinctive image of The Blessed Virgin is visible. Hopefuly we can see it on TV although probably only in HD.
It should be a great night for the Catholics, it will be just like ..hey for me " Its Like a Dream Come True"

Yah but wouldnt you like to have a turntable like that again?
I would always miss. The thing would land 10 seconds into the song or miss the album.
But the sound of vinal was

Wholeheartedly AGREED, PB. In fact, I asked "Santa" for a turntable for Christmas. I believe "Santa" thought it was a dumb idea and went her... uh, his... own direction. Based on my snooping, I think I'm line for a PS3 instead.
"Santa's" wrong. You can't beat the sound of vinyl - EVER. It's classic. And there's nothing cooler than a record collection - even if they're crappy records, just having a collection of them is truly a status symbol. Air Supply is suddenly cool if it's on vinyl.

Then I must be the coolest guy on the bored, cuz I have two(!) turntables and huge pile of vinyl at home. Did I mention I'm divorced? I wonder if there's a connection...

Thats right Govs. All of this digital stuff and digitally remasterd hype is just that...hype. It is not a better sound than vinyl, nothing is.
However, the problem with vinyl is wear. When my ole pal jackdaniels is on the needle, after throwing a couple back , vinyl gets scratched and the sound gets scratchy with it.
PS Even my Barry Manilow collection sounds good on vinyl.........................................................................................................just kidding.

Yep, the albums, or better yet 45's would get warped, or bent and you'd have to tape the appropriate size coin to the top of the stylus (we called em needles) to keep them from hopping off the vinyl.
I used to love the look you'd get if you were one to many "Miller Ponies " into the party, and gave the needle the old toss and
SCREEEEEECH!!!!

Well, its another dreamy day.
You gotta love the fact that we arent bothered by the sun much this time of year. I like waking up in the dark, going home in the dark, and in between, uninterrupted dreariness.
Saves wear and tear on the sunglasses.
But thats why its so great to have all our fine sports teams as a bright ray of sun in our lives. Think about it. The Vikings are one game over .500 and the town is all a glow.
With the TWolves now at 3 wins, its like being on a sundrenched beach.
As the warm sunny feeling that was left by Gopher football fades, the sunburst that is a .500 Gopher hockey team quickly fills the void.
The anticipation of the Gopher Bballers playing the Dakota teams is like a rainbow of color.
Dont let this gray weather make you feel blue
Cuz the suns comin out and
"Its Like a Dream Come True"
Here's another classic dreamin song from Roy.
