SB24 wrote:Don't worry Lehrke won't win it, you think he's even close to the same class as a player like Ness?...btw, is having him on the finalist list as good as going to state for you?
Obviously he isnt too far away....they are both 1 of 10 players up for the same award... the biggest individual award in minnesota high school hockey

Congrats to him for making the top 10 list. But anyone who says he and Ness are equal talents (or have the same shot at the award) has a screw loose. No offense to Lehrke, he can't pick his fans

Oldram - Dion Hebel was from spraque wasn't he? Where else would he play? haha pretty sure the hasbargens moved for a certain job opening to run the arena, albert and rita ran that place for years (kids where all in youth hockey when they moved). I remember the Axelsson kid, wasn't he the goalie? If i remeber right he was the reason Corwin Saurdiff left for waterloo, than to Northern Michigan, than onto San Jose. I believe he was one of the first MN born players to leave hs early for Juniors in the USHL, could be wrong though.

I like how this Walker - Favorite for 8A thread made it 4 pages long because of Warroad's great tradition...

W/H/A defeated Bagley last night 5-0 for what I believe is their first varsity win! Congragulations. Ironic that Walker's coach beat his alma mater for this win.
Concerning FAVORITE: New arena with 2 fire places in it, leather lounge chairs by the fire places, library, lots of support from the community, association board that supports their hockey coaches, and a nice sheet of ice when they finish all the fan stands--while they aren't going to win the section in 09, they could well be the favorite for trying.

I'd rather not skate against the big boys. I get enjoyment out of beating up on lesser teams. Sound familiar?...
