one of the biggest waste of a scholarship at the U
that would be jeff frazee actually...
but my vote is mayasich. he holds almost every state tournament record there is and had 4 straight tournaments. although its too hard to prove one way or another considering nobody on this forum has likely ever seen him play, i think those records are hard to deny.

If you look at contribution to Minnesota Hockey without a doubt it has to be Neal Broten.
Wins/accomplishments:
Captain of Minnesota N. Stars
Owns record for longest career with a Minnesota pro hockey team
First American to have 100 point season in the NHL
Won NCAA with the Gophers
Won Hobey Baker award
Number was retired by the stars
Scored Goal to clinch Stanley Cup (although could be thrown out since it wasn't with Minn. team)
Won Olympic Gold Medal (miracle on ice)
The list keeps going on and on and on and on...
Not to take away from the other great players from this state, but Neal did it in this state and most of his accomplishments contributed to the "State of Hockey".

Dave Spehar-He was the funnest to watch by far. Maybe he wasn't an all around player but he was good with the puck.

Maybe for one very special weekend in march he was the best but for the rest of the time he was just good and doesn't belong in a class with guys like Broten, Boucha, Mayasich, Sheehy, and Housley. He would go to the second tier of players though.

I agree somewhat, but he did have 263 points in his career. I would have to put him up with the big dogs.

I'm not sure if he was the best player on Warroad his senior year. His goalie made the NHL and he didn't.

From the 60's it would have to be either Huffer Christianson from the Falls or Mike Antonovich from Greenway.

That's two more than Larry played. Erickson first team All-American in 1990. Larry second team All-American in 1992. Erickson wins that battle too.
