I can't agree more there is some major scheduling issues here especially after last nights game it was great, the crowd, the players, the coaches and even the Polish sausage.

The ADs of these two schools should change this!

Brainerd's goals were scored by Frazer and Olson. Both on the PP.

I want to hear from some of warrior fans about your coach. It seemed like the warrior players were totally uninspired to play the second and third periods. What do you guys think of him up there in B-town?

I don't know if your going "fishin" or not but I'll bite anyways...
He's a great guy, Just isn't a very good coach.
Problems with his coaching. IMO.
--- His teams have never played TEAM hockey, they have their stars and they try to do it all themselves. His shoot first, pass second mentality leads to this.
--- They tend throw everything up the boards, and never use the center of the ice. Easily defendable.
--- I personally don't like the way he sets up his powerplay. Not enough movement of the players, and rarely an attempt at a backdoor pass.
--- Overall, the knowledge of the game is not taught to the players, they are not taught how to look for open space, and they are not encouraged to MAKE A PLAY, it is always get the puck on the net, this is why you see high shot totals for few goals in a lot of games.
--- His teams slide every year around this time and into the playoffs, adjustments have not been made throughout the year.
In his defense, the players are not taught the game very well before they get to him. With many players he has limited time to make them perform. However, as the head of BAHA, he has the power to get coaches to coach his style of hockey at the youth levels.
The biggest problem with him as a coach is he is running a PeeWee style of hockey at a Varsity Level. Very Basic.

Brainerd/Pillager/Pierz Warriors - Drew Olson (powerplay) (Julius Tamasy) , 12:48

I don't know if I would trust pointstreak for the Brainerd Warriors stats. They have made many errors from the actual scoring. If you look at the pointstreak scoring against Edina, on the lone Brainerd goal they have 6 players listed as being on the ice at the time of the goal, and the goal was given to the wrong player.

Well what I think hurt Brainerd in the long run was being in the box way to much. Once LF scored one, I think the Brainerd got discuraged, and lept going in the box in the second, and LF took that to their advantage, just as Brainerd did in the first with their two powerplays. And that was one of the best games I seen Sperl in net, and the best I seen the team play like an all around team!

What I don't get is why Brainerd could dominate the 1st, and then lay an egg the rest of the way. The shots were almost 2-1 in favor of Brd, and most of LF shots weren't very good opportunities I didn't think. It was like two totally different teams came out for the 2nd and 3rd.
Sorry if I got the scoring wrong for Brd.

I thought Sperl should have stopped Olson's goal. It looked like he had a clear look at it from my angle. It was a rocket though. Like I said, he was an impressive looking player out there.

I would agree with most of the comments and that the defense needs work. The good teams have figured out the "dump up the boards" system. It's nice to see that this year Olson has been given the latitude to take the puck end to end, when the opportunity arises. It has paid off. Rusk also has that potential.
I disagree with the comments about the coaching these kids had before HS. Most of this team had great coaching in Bantam A. The system was designed around the strength and weaknesses of the players and adjustments were made based on the strengths and weaknesses of the teams being played. It was very effective and didn't look the same from year to year, because the kids were different from year to year. Losing that coach was a big loss for BAHA.
Kudos to LF for the heart and drive they showed in the 2nd and 3rd periods. With the rukus in the exchange, you'd think they won the Stanley Cup! What a great atmosphere and great rivalry. We do need to make this a twice a year event!
I hope some adjustments can be made in the home stretch and the Warriors will be very successful the rest of the season!

When you don't beat your rival in forever, you can bet it was like winning the "Cup".
And, I too hope the Warriors can make a run the rest of the year.

That's what a GOOD coach does, makes adjustments.

So who thinks that the goal they took away was actaully a goal?
Should the real score be 7-3

It was a rocket Olson has an excellent shot and don't expect a high school goaltender to stop everything. What makes high school hockey so great is these kids make mistakes and they learn which are life lessons. Wouldn't you rather watch a good high school game rather than a pro game where mistakes are hardly made.
Or did you miss the olson goal because some kraut fell off of your polish sausage and you had to scoop it up before the 5 second rule.

My kid said he saw it go in. But he's only 9 and he's seen things before that didn't really happen.

when mite-dad's kraut fell it landed on his sandles, but it was a close one though!

I agree, it was a rocket and I wouldn't have wanted to try to stop it.
But I think some kraut juice shot out of my sausage and got in Sperl's eye just before the shot. Yeah, that's what happened.

Losing Henry as Bantam A coach is going to hurt this program. He was very good coach and demanded alot out of his players.

I dont know Henry at all but from what I have heard from several sources is that he is the best coach that BAHA has had in several years. I will agree with lampthelight though that beyond him the youth level is lacking good coaches. Its not that the coaches dont put in the effort with the kids its just that they may be lacking hockey experience or systems knowledge. Like I said in an earlier post I could count on one hand the number of parents of kids on teams I played on who actually played or knew anything about hockey. The ones that did for the most part werent volunteer coaches either. I just think that the program really needs to get on the same page at every level from squirts on up. Maybe not as complex in squirts but the bantam team should be running the same system as the high school team. Also the PeeWees should be getting a pretty good dose of the same thing. Maybe going to hockey camp all summer long burns these kids out and in the second half they are either all sick of hockey or are ready to move onto the next sport. Just a thought.
