Difference in the game today was a lunch pail team could not beat Anoka's D-1 talent. Other than that boys argue on about who saw what and who outplayed who. Don't matter Anoka burried the biscuit.

That is because the ding-dong didn't want to scratch his whistle!!! In fact the reason they were late coming back on the Ice before the 3rd. was Tok was showing Them his nice shiney whistle. The Milk Man wrote:I was at the game and thought it was possibly the worst reffed game i have ever seen in my entire life TOK was a complete joke Grant Prokop broke his stick and he went to toss it in the bench and a part of the stick landed away from the box and TOK made a rapids player leave the nech to pick it up while he stood right over the stick. He could not have been a bigger prick.
Watch out with the dirtball talk. GR is getting a bad enough name from their own "fans" without talk like that. Responding to a few of your comments, I for one didn't think that the refs cost GR the game. While the officiating was poor, it was poor both ways as has been the usual case this season. As for an opponent getting "homered" in GR, obviously you're not familliar with what goes on here. It's absolutely the reverse. I didn't feel the hit on Palki was anything other than a hard hit.(He did suffer a 2nd concussion by the way) I don't think that Anoka could have made this a 5 goal game getting outshot 35-16. Anoka's tender made some great saves and should get credit for beating GR. A huge turning point in the game came in the 1st when Jack Moore beat the tender clean, hit the post, then seconds later, Rendle was called for interference for hitting an Anoka player who actually had the puck. Anoka scores on the PP, and the tone of the game has been set. Moore's shot goes in, no penalty, no PP goal, GR leads 1-0. That's hockey, sometimes it's your day, sometimes not. Anoka is a decent team, but as I said in an earlier post, I would put GR up against them in the playoffs and not be worried. As I'm sure Anoka fans would say the same of GR.giveblood=playhockey wrote:first of all id like to congratulate anoka on there 3-0 victory and remaining in 1st.
Then just wanted to feed off other conversations going on, i cannot beleive you are saying that the reffing was terrible, as hockey59 stated you must be used to a "home town" ref whos calls for its own team, as most northern teams are. Anoka dominated your power play, not the regular play but power play. That wasnt anoka's best game they could have deffinetly stepped it up and made it a 5 goal game. your just trying to find excusses to blame the loss on to keep yourself convinced that your hard working lunch pail carying dirtballs and just that good.
Also your player that got hurt, which i do feel sorry for, but it was no cheapshot, deffinetly had the puck and was at the wrong place at the wrong time because #3 of anoka just gave him a flat out good hit along the boards.
keep up the streek anoka

Screen through traffic, weak shot, weak upper corner goal from way out that Underwood simply misplayed. As for the Anoka "big three" GR consistently had better players than those guys on the ice at all times."
Ill give you the shot stats anoka need to get to the net more. they played not physical enough and to much finease. BUT, how can you say "weak goals"? the first 2 goals were your own teams fault ofcourse becuase you were put on penalty kill. first goal by #29 was a pin point shot, goaly being screened, good goal. second goal by #9, a snipe from the top of the circle? yea and i cant forget about the open netter what a great shot.(just kidding about the open net)
GR3343 wrote:Pretty tough talk from the so called GR "fans". I've been called out on this bored before for being negative towards this team, but I believe I've been realistic. Fare weather fans are annoying. Perhaps I'm watching a different game than others, but I do know the game of hockey. I still have faith in this team and even if they lost in the first game of the playoffs, I'd still be there to congratulate every one of them. Instead of constantly focusing on the negative aspects, look a little deeper. Feel free to make comments on bad play or lack of effort. But, maybe do so with a little more tact. Opinions are everywhere, and everyone is entitled. I know I've personally questioned things they do, but at the same time, have commented that things are fixable and within their grasp. This team is much better than what the "fans" of GR make of them. I still think this squad is much like the State Tourney team of '88. They may be a wild card come playoff time, but heart and soul make up for any lack of talent people think they may have. Maybe they'll bow out in the 1st round and all you "fans" can say "I told you so". This team has the makeup of a contender whether you want to believe it or not.
PASTRAPIDSFAN, great team support, true characteristics of a real die hard. Kick 'em when they're down, cheer for them when they win. You're awesome
Aside from a decent looking goalie and power play, Anoka didn't show much else. Rapids outplayed them for most of the game and had a big territorial advantage. I will give credit where credit is due though. The Tornadoes capitalized on their opportunities. The T-Hawks continue to have trouble scoring. I would like to see a rematch in a few weeks.bulldog14411 wrote:3-0 Anoka Congratulations on a well played game boys!
Well said.GR3343 wrote:PASTRAPIDSFAN, or should I say current Rapids hater? You've been nothing but negative concerning GR lately. What's the deal? If you were at the game today, and you know anything about hockey, you would have seen a game that GR clearly controlled everywhere except the scoreboard. They made a few mistakes along the way, as all teams do, but overall played very well. Today was one of those days where the puck just wouldn't go in, and the Anoka goaltender played very well. Anyone who reads this, don't let anyone tell you that Anoka played a great game and dominated GR. It just didn't happen. I would be comfortable to see Rapids meet that team again in the playoffs. What game were you at??? With those comments you just proved you know very little about the game!PASTRAPIDSFAN wrote:Well for the record ive been a die hard fan longer than most and know more about hockey than most sitting in those stands.I was at the game and what i saw was horrible, they have no discipline, cant make passes, best gut shooting team ive seen,Anoka controlled 90 percent of the game, we were chasing themthey had us running in circles,we did have a few shots but none that were quality.we couldnt even control there top 3 players9,19,29.They also controlled our powerplays.I will give credit to underwood this game could have been worse.I will not get off there back till i see improvement. So GR3343 you must have been in the other rink watching a diffent game.GR3343 wrote:PASTRAPIDSFAN, or should I say current Rapids hater? I didn't see a single player out there for Anoka who stood out that much. Rapids has seen quite a bit better individual talent this season than what they saw Saturday.northwoods oldtimer wrote:Difference in the game today was a lunch pail team could not beat Anoka's D-1 talent. Northwoods Oldtimer is no fan of what he jokingly refers to as the "citiot" teams from the TC Metro area...but what he said in this post was right on.northwoods oldtimer wrote:Difference in the game today was a lunch pail team could not beat Anoka's D-1 talent. For someone (PRF) to boast of their knowledge of a sport, then immediately follow that up with comments such as how 90% of the game was controlled by one team, no quality shots by GR, and how top players were not controlled.... I would just comment that one could look at the SOG totals and pretty much refute PRF's entire post. It was a tough loss for GR, and Anoka's goalie deserves credit for a shutout.norcon wrote:What game were you at??? You continue to show your ignorance when it comes to the game of hockey. Obviously, the scoreboard is the final say when it comes to a game. However, continuing to say that GR "gutshot" the Anoka goalie with all of their 35 shots shows you don't see a game very well. The Anoka goalie made many good saves and made several outstanding ones as well. He alone was the difference in the game, not GR's inept shooting as you would have others believe. I will agree that a few shots hit the center of the net(as every team does every single game)GR had more than their share of quality scoring chances. Once again, get off their backs. You've been nothing but a source of negativity to the GRHS team, especially lately. If you were a true fan, you would find words of encouragmant rather than your continued disrespectful and negative remarks. You want others to believe that you're a non biased observer of the game, but what it boils down to is the simple fact that you don't believe the orange and black has lived up to your expectations. Regardless of where they end up this season, those players deserve more respect than what they've been given by the likes of you.PASTRAPIDSFAN wrote:SOG dont count on the score board goals do,as for the shots anoka could have put a garbage can in the net for the quality of shots rapids had,Ive never seen a team gut shoot a goalie as bad as rapids did.
