sounds like a good W for the flyers of small falls...and a brain dead loss that should almost clinch the CLC for the boys but they still face fergus and tech and then the conference will be ours for the second straight year...back to back i think so

Actually I think with Brainerd loosing and LF winning, and Alex loosing, it will make Little Falls the Central Lake Champs.

Alexandria dominated about 90% of the game tonight, but penalties killed them. To go down 5 on 3 to LF is terrible, and they did it. LF got 2 quick goals that put them up on the scoreboard. I don't know how many scoring chances Alexandria had but this game could have been 6-2 in Alexandria's favor. The teams look evenly matched, this is shaping up to be a good game in section tourney play, we'll have to see what happens.

I couldnt agree more. I was at the game and 5-5 was completely controlled by alexandria. The top lines for each team seemed evenly match. Alex line may have played alittle better. However, 2nd and 3rd lines for alexandria completely dominated little falls in every which way. I shot were something like 31-25 in favor of alexandria but i would say 5on5 hockey alex had to outshoot little falls 25-10. I think falls got a little wake up call here and alex proved something tonight. No joke the game could have been a 3 or 4 goal win for alex but sperl stood on his head which he needed to do for the team to get a win i commend both goalies, but I think many people are surprised by how good this alexandria team actually is and I think this section match up is 50-50 now. all in all an unbelievable game

I agree Alex looked like the better team tonight but for some reason the best team always finds a way to win. Even though LF played like crap they still found a way to win. Seriously they look terrible as of late honestly i'm surprised they won the game Spearl looked good in the net but the rest of the team were just going through the motions. I think a loss would be good for this team maybe it would motivate them. Purely disappointing to say the least I look for a possible night in the dark at the exchange arena with the puke buckets out. Something needs to motivate these guys. The refs weren't too bad tonight a few missed calls in front of the alex net and a couple that could have been called the other way. This Little Falls team needs some help, currently they are limping to sections. [-( On another note alex looks to be playing good hockey but are still unable to beat the flyers on their home ice which begs the question could they even beat them on neutral ice, personally I doubt it come sections. Only time will tell.

To tell you the truth. I think alex sometimes tends to play better at the mac then they do at home. I know over the past 5 years or so that kind of seems to be the case. Its a good sheet of ice and a good atmosphere so I dont think the location will have anyting to do with a win or the loss. I think it will just be a good hard faught game and it can go either way

Exactly the opposite is what happened here the cards out played and outshot the flyers but the flyers somehow get the 2-1 victory.

Yes Alex dominated this game 5 on 5. Penalties have killed Alexandria this season. Remember the Fergus game? They were up 2-0 and go 5 on 3 and allow 2 quick goals.

Should make for some good section play-off hockey.

Now wait a minute! I said they were playing poorly and I got berated for it. What gives?!

Now that I got that off my chest, I think these games are close for another reason. They got a target on their back because they are considered the team to beat and they are playing these games on the other team's ice the second time around. It makes sense that the scores could be closer. I do agree that they better turn it up a notch in sections or they could get upset. The Fergus game will be an interesting one because I think Fergus has some players that can definitely put it in the net and its on their ice. Should be another barn burner.

well I think that the close games are because of the season, it happens in every sport, you might take games with ease in the early part of the season, but when it comes to the end well players are getting tired, all LF fans have to remember that they will not get 3 or 4 goal differences in all games. A W is a W, and well I will take that.

So a guy sees him play one game and says he isn't that great? Give me a break. I'm not saying he's the second coming but he's no slouch. I doubt SCSU would sign him if he "wasn't that great".

An observer that was at the game last night told SiouxRecruit that LF is way overrated  well one of their first line wingers was out and they filled his spot with a couple of JV kids and still won plus their goalie out performed one of the best goalies in the area. With Ben Hanowski not being that great, well he would be leading the state in scoring if he hadn't missed five games. Plus on the pre game show on Tuesday they were interviewing him and he said that he wasn't at 100% yet from his groin injury. So going on the road and beating the second best team in the section without one of the 1st liners, Ben Hanowski not being 100%, plus Alex having one of the best goalies around and your calling them overrated, ok whatever

Alex had a first line winger out as well. and one of there top D is still suffering from a shoulder injury a few weeks ago in willmar. Not to mention a few other guys that arent 100%. so it kinda goes both ways. when both teams are healthy it should be one great game. Plus sperl doesnt do this game in and game out. hemingway does. If sperl can do this in sections then i will be impressed.

Giving up 1 goal in 2 games vs. the Cards suggests he tends to rise to the occasion when pitted against Hemingway. And his numbers aren't too shabby besides against Alex. I believe his numbers put him in the top 20 in the state. If LF and Alex do meet again in sections, Alex will need to find the net a lot more than they have in the first two meetings.

Agreed Spearl has improved quite a bit over the past year hopefully he will continue to step up when needed. Great kid and a great goaltender he thinks of the team first, I wish his dad would too. Keep playing great one goal against the red tweety birds is pretty good. :D
