I completely agree. If they continue to have the same success for a couple more years, then they should absolutely move up to AA. Everyone seems to forget that they have had 5 state tournament appearances all time. All of them since 1999 and only one state championship. Let's all wait and see if the glory days continue after this years seniors graduate.

What's a bad idea? STA moving up? I don't think they should go anywhere right now. However, if they continue to make the tourney for the next 4-5 years, then they probably should move up to AA. It is too soon to say. Like I said before, until STA proves they can be good after the seniors leave they are fine right where they are.

hasnomoves...you made one of the dumbest posts i've ever read on this board comparing litch and LF....LF lost to cathedral in a close game where both teams were not playing at the top of their game.....catedral lost to marshall not at full strength 3-1....marshall beat your boys from sta 8-2...explain that one??? LF is good enough to be in the tourny...while i still think sta will win, i hope LF does.....it'll be interesting

BrokenBat.....i wasnt comparing Litch and Little Falls...my point is that in Class A, every year there are 2 first round games that are a complete waste because the "other" teams...int his case litch, and LF, have absolutely no chance at winning, and it will more than likely be an embarrassing blow out for class A....these match ups are what make people not think highly of the two class system. HasNoMoves. This game will not be a blowout. It will be a close game. As much as I dislike little falls, they are a good team with a very strong top line that can play with almost anyline, A or AA with the exception of probably edina and roseau. This game will be a 2 goal game which can go either way. STA is the better team with more balance and depth, but Little falls is kind of playing like they have something to prove to the state because of people like you.

LF can try tp prove whatever they want...we will chat about this Thurs. morning.....their section is weak, their conference is week....both of which are not their fault....I have a problem with LF not scheduling tougher non conference games....they have no balls. At least Cathedral plays Warroad, Marshall, Hermantown, Denfeld, Roch Lourdes...I think LF only played Lourdes out of that list, and its probably because Roch came up here to play on Fri. night against Cathedral and needed an opponent for Sat. Suck Rapids probably pussed out and LF ended up playing them.

brucey, I am shocked that you are actually defending Little Falls I do agree that LF's first line can play with anybody in the state. Ben Hanowski is the real deal and he and his teammates have somethng to prove this year.

LF is a bad team, did you fall on your head? The won the Central Lakes Conference title and went undefeated in 6A going 11-0 and now are on a 17 game winning streak.

Little falls has a lot of fire power. Hemingway had a pretty tough time keeping up with the stick handling and puck handling skills of LF's top line. From what i've heard hes a pretty good goalie...

all 3 lines from lf are great scorers and throw alot of shots on goal and make really good plays. All you people that say this is gonna be a blowout are gonna be in for a surprise

Well AP I just had to do it. sometimes you get people that are just complete morons and you gotta chime in everyonce in a while.

Hemingway is one of the top goalies in the state and is being heavily recruited by many division 1 teams. Granted the D for alex is a little weak but LF top line moved the puck well and scored some pretty impressive goals on hemingway.

Bottom line is this will be a great game that may be a chance to get section 6A a little respect. Close game in the end.

Section 6 is weak??? give me a break..........not unbelievably strong, but not weak, the team who won this section very much deserves state and do not be surprised if Little Falls takes this one......

hasnomoves....explain this one to me....how does marshall beat STA 8-2 and cathedral only loses to marshall 3-1 and beats LF 3-1...by comparative scores that would mean LF is better than SCC...which we all know is BS.....yes we all know STA plays a much better schedule...I'm sure LF is tried to get games with the big boys, but you need to take into effect section opponents, budgeting issues and conference play.........not everybody has an unlimited budget like STA.........it will be a good game, not a 8-1 laugher which you think LF is going to get embarrassed by.....

You see, you cannot say that Little Falls needs to try a tougher schedule because on any given year they have a pretty decent schedule. Just because this year St. Cloud Tech wasn't great or Apollo or Sauk Rapids or Fergus Falls or Detroit Lakes .....or ..........
They have a decent schedule for an outstate team and simply put they could only switch to the Marriucci conference if they wanted a better one(that is if the Marriucci conference even mattered anymore wich it doesn't)..The only LF lacks in their schedule is a few games against very elite teams wich is something that the majority of the state could say.
St. Thomas Academy has 5 losses in their much "superior" schedule, Little Falls has 3 losses in their much "inferior" schedule.

LF will be a worthy opponent for STA. I'm not sure they will pull the upset or not, but it'll be a good game. Like other posters have said, they gave Hermantown all they wanted for 2 periods last year. The third period is where LF will have to keep pace. If the first line is played too much in the first two periods, like last year, they will be gassed by period 3.

The Duluth Marshall/Mankato West game will be more of a blow out than this one.

actually Little Falls did not go undefeated in the conference and the conference is not the same as the section otherwise they would've been undefeated in the conference wich they were not. Here's a question brainiak: without looking who is in the Central Lakes Conference and Section 6A?????

River Lakes is not part of 6A

I never said they went undefeated in the Conference I said LF won the Conference.
