I would also like to point out that when my son played legion baseball in Rochester they moved to two legion teams and the games were great.
JM and Mayo... Rochester A's got some guys still from Lourdes and JM.
Kieth moved to Head job at Century and legion baseball expanded and VFW
expanded to match the high schools I believe even Lourdes has a team.
I note that the High school team have done better as all three public schools went to Red Wing for the Section 1 playoffs.
I think the kids will expand if the opportunity exists.
Hockey is more expensive and maybe the development at the younger levels can be done in house with the great facilities and we can raise funds to help families play this great game but if we expand the players at the younger level and develop the skating and hockey skills we will have better high school teams.
It was not received as the thing to do in baseball and it has proven to work out. We may not do as well in the legion tournament as we did in the past but I think Kieth won the World Series with pretty much all Century guys.

anyways.... back to the topic i would pick century or south to win it. at thispoint i would say south because centurys best scorer may have a concution
however for the next 2 year jm will comeout of section one they didnt have agood year BUT 5 out of thier top 6 forwordswere sophmores and 2 or there 4 D were sophmores also there goalie (best sophmore inthe state no lie). also has 3 kids on theA team ready to steo into those 3 spots. this team will go to state netx year and be in the title game the year after

that rite there is why roch dont win state every year. like i said any other twon in the state came come up w/ 4 i promiss u the roch schools will beat them. if the 4 duluth schools played the 4 roch schools the roch ones would win more then the dulth ones would
Ummm... I dont think you're correct.
i no its correct come find me when u have 4 teams that could beat or play even with all the roch teams
Any person with common knowledge
knows(I bolded the word Know to give rockets4 spelling help because it is obvious he has not been properly educated) that there are 30 teams in the state that can beat the rochester teams, and that’s including class A.

I was right last year wasn't I? And it's not just 1AA I pick on, basically any team that's highly rated and has a very weak strength of schedule, I don't like (Maple Grove, Jefferson, etc). Roseau was the quintessential example of that last season, most people were making them out to be some godlike team (even better than '93 Jefferson) despite them not playing any top competition, when they finally did play 2 games against top teams, they lost both of them by a combined score of 11-3. I speak my mind and I realize it can be a little harsh sometimes so I'm sorry.

rockets4 im sorry to tell you but your JM Rockets will not make it to state next year!
the winner of the section next year will be one of the Lakevilles, Mayo is losing everybody, Century will have one line, 2 D and there goalie, and JM really only has King!

Thank you Nodak Sioux! I was too tired to explain the same thing to Mr Yetzer myself.

Rockets4 aka Yetzer - generally a team with an 'outstanding sophmore class' wins more than 8 games, especially when those wins are over teams like Dodge County, Mpls West, and whatever other teams you guys beat this year. A team with an 'oustanding sophmore class' gets higher than a #8 seed, especially in 1AA. A team with an 'outstanding sophmore class' gets more than 10 shots against a cross-town rival....I could go on and on.
Keep working hard and you might have a chance to get in the top half of the Big Nine and you might even host a playoff game before your career is done. However, there is no way your current team will be able to compete with Lakeville South, Century, etc. How many Bantam A players will you get next year? How many did you get this year?
A team with an outstanding sophmore class is someone like Eden Prairie.
An outstanding sophmore class would be one like Mayo had in 98-99, where several of the players went on to play juniors/college hockey, including Hobey Baker award candidate Jeff Jakaitis. Oh, they were also seeded #1 and went to the state tournament.
Best wishses against Dodge County tomorrow night. Please do all of Rochester a favor and actually beat them in the playoffs this year!

I guess we will just have to see how this state tourney unfolds before you redicule a section for having weak teams in it.
This section is a joke. No one from this section should be allowed to participate in the state tournament.
I also agree, Lakeville South got in with I think a losing record or around .500 last year. It is a joke. Does anyone agree with me that section 4AA is pretty weak too. Hill Murray gets in way too often, they need some competition besides White Bear Lake. They should split up 2AA and 6AA because those are 2 of the best sections by far. Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Hopkins, Benilde, Wayzata all in 6AA are ahead of everyone in 1AA, 3AA, 4AA, 8AA!!!!!! How ridiculous is that, and Duluth East is the only one in 7AA ahead of them. I want to hear some other viewpoints on this.

this is a pretty bold thing to say man. not to mention the number of typos you had in a matter of two sentences. Here is why I think this wont happen and your beloved rockets wont make the title game for many many many years to come. I remember when Hovick, Amundson, Witt, and all those 04 grads played their sophomore year. Those guys were the real deal. They were playing against way better teams, Mayo and Century in particular, and even austin was good. This year they have that same problem with having a deep sophomore class, but I hate to tell ya, they arent that good. If the 04 rockets couldnt make it to state then I have a hard time believing a this new team will. That is unless the section is incredibly weak and in that case it will be one of the LVs that win.

Don't forget this is a realignment year, the MSHSL will probably put one or two stronger teams in section 1.

Hopefully, there are much better and more deserving teams that should make it to state before any team from section 1AA makes it.

Rockets4 should recreate himself as Crockets4 so we wouldn’t know whom he is! What a Crock, one defenseman that continues to take stupid “toughguy” penalties, another whom get’s beat inside five to six times a game against bad competition. As for the forwards he mentions….not one will go into the corner (I don’t think he mentioned Miller)…..Goalie well he hasn’t looked to good against top competition either….oh wait maybe it’s the defense that makes the goalie look bad.
The ROCKETS will not be good for a long time!

How can you say that JM should get a top 5 seed when they can barely beat Dodge County and Austin. They lost to Hastings by 10 and New Richmond in the tourney. JM shouldn't even be an 8th seed.
