Green and White Fan wrote:A quote from Here'sYourSign2828, "I didn't want to get into the reffing problem as I don't like to use them as an excuse every time we lose like many people do." He then went on to complain about the refs. This was posted after the refs again jobbed the Falls against Hibbing.

Back to the game at hand. Both teams have played well at times and both teams have played poorly at times. I'm hoping the Rams add to their record number of appearances at the state tourney. Time will tell.
Learn how to read. I did not say we lost by the ref's calls against hibbing. I hear the vfw is open early in TRF and are serving 2 for 1 for all the rams fan so they feel at home. Here's your sign green and white. :-$

Go Taters

Key stats to the game:

Moorhead:
1. Shadow a couple of players
2. Stay out of the penatly box
3. TAKE ALL SHOTS!!!! HIGH, LOW, EVERYTHING ON NET

Roseau:
1. Do not allow the defense to get behind you
2. STAY OUT OF THE BOX!!!
3. SHADOW, SHADOW, SHADOW!!
4. Shots are not going to really matter tonight all that much, this goalie is GREAT!!! You are going to have to create QUALITY SCORING CHANCES!!! That is what it is going to take!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
Play hard, play clean, and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO ROSEAU!! Send these seniors out with a last time at the X!!!!!

Some Spud posters on here are talkin' kinda smart already. Last time we played the Sheep in that building, we had a powerhouse team that was HEAVILY favored & got beat 1-0.

Better be careful - I've tasted crow before & it's nothing like chicken !

Spuds v Rams

I love to watch games in the Mini Ralph.....just not Moorhead games. We dont play well on that big sheet. Roseau has Moorheads number, will Morinville find a way to turn it around? Perhaps, Is Nick Oliver playing for Roseau? Is Alex Altenbernd healthy enough to contribute?
Ive had Mono....its very physically draining.
Why play a game on a Wednesday during Lent? Neither of these teams played a game in the regular season on a Wednesday night so why now? If someone could explain I would appreciate this!
I will take Moorhead by 3 with an empty net goal. 4-1
Would have loved to have been able to watch this in person, but will have to settle for the radio....

Congrats Moorhead Section 8AA Champions!!!!

When talking about strength of schedule one should add in that Moorhead plays a tough schedule and travels one of the most if not the most miles to accomplish this.

What a great game from start to finish. The Spuds finally broke the Engelstad rink jinx. I'm glad I was there to see this game. Logan Marks made a phenomenal save in the 2nd period on a close-in shot that I thought for sure was going to be a goal, I believe by Landman. He also made some big saves in the 3rd period after the Spuds had a 2-goal lead. Kudos to Roseau. They played a good game and never gave up.

Very good game played by both teams. Differences in the game was definitely the power play. First 5 goals were all power play goals with Moorhead going 3 for 3 on its first 3. And goaltending Marks proved that he was the better goalie and kept the Spuds in the game. Little taken back by a Roseau player mixing it up at the spuds bench after teh game. Ooh well playing with some emotion.

Look for the spuds to make some noise at the X. The kids play with emoition and that could carry they in the tournmaent. They have played well lately play good against 3 top ranked teams down the stretch. Good luck to them

The Spuds played really well. The power play cycled the puck really nice. Thats the key to a good power play. It really hasn't been that great all year, but it stepped when we needed it. Roseau played a hard fought game and I know Landman would have liked to end his career in the X, but Moorhead just played with more emotion and came out hard in the first. When I was there I thought the Roseau fans weren't really getting into it either. But I could hear the Moorhead student section pretty well and was pretty impressed with the turn out. All in all Moorhead did exactly what they needed to: stayed out of the box for the most part and make capitalized on the special teams. And im proud to say that Ill be at the X cheerin on the Spuds for the first time since 2005. Go Spuds!

Who won?

I was excited to see the the spuds get back to the X but was diappointed to see how our fans acted newspapers during the lineups taunting the ram goalie booing name calling during the medal ceremony it was embarrassing. The Cullen years wouldn't have put up with this. The ram fans had more class in losing than the spuds had in winning.
