I was very impressed with SCC.

As for the maht kid, the announcers on channel 45 said he was taken out on a stretcher with severe back/side pain. He was on the way to the hospital, but at that point, his parents had no idea what was wrong. I hope he is okay!

The hit itself was clean, but when you send somebody into an uncontrollable fall into the boards, it's boarding. Not a dirty play, that's not what I'm saying. It was a big hit and a freak injury. All I'm saying is that it should have been a 2 minute penalty for boarding, especially with some of the weak calls this guy was making. Most of these refs don't even know what boarding is though.

Good luck to Cathedral, and good luck to Ben Marshall. I hope he has a speedy recovery from his injury.

Anyone heard anything on Marshall?

From what I heard Ben's parents didn't even know what happened until later tonight. One of my buddies brothers is on the team. #15 Matt Moberg told him that Ben bruised his kidney or something like that. Hope it isn't serious enough he can't play the next 1 or 2 if the Zephyrs win tomorrow against Hutch. Good luck Ben!

Uncontrollable fall into the boards, not just knocking somebody down. I agree that the hit in and of itself was clean, and I wrote as much above, but when even a clean hit sends a player falling into the boards like Marshall, it's boarding. Boarding calls are meant to help prevent players from getting injured, and Marshall was injured, not from the hit, but from flying sideways into the boards. Problem is that nobody really knows what boarding is, and no, not every hard hit would be boarding.
