So are you saying it was 0-0 until 5:30 into the 3rd and Minnetonka scored 5 unanswered goals from that point to the end of the game?

This other thread says something different: http://www.ushsho.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21735

Interesting to note Richfield has no JV team.

Roseville was the better team tonight. They were faster and moved the puck better. Edina was hanging in there and the game was close into the 3rd period but a turnover at the blue line cause a breakaway and blew the game wide open. There were some interesting events. Roseville scored the first goal of the game with the net off. Also, Roseville looked to have scored a third period goal that was missed by the refs.

Hastings 2, Stillwater 0- FINAL

Hastings controlled the entire game. Defense and goaltending won the game for the Raiders. Stillwater fans may gripe about the officials, but they let things go both ways, so that argument won't be valid there. Hastings clearly outplayed Stillwater.

Goals: M. Klimek (2), and M. Holm (2)

Wical 22/22 Shots, Sobczak 25/27 Shots

Based on results to date, no question now that Roseville deserves to be ranked No. 1 in AA.

agreed roseville is the dominant power. Stillwater usually peaks at tournament time when it counts but right now they have too many players playing for the scouts and not the win.

Hastings goalie was the difference. The play was even first 2 periods and stillwater clearly had advantage in 3rd. Hastings played very tough and blocked alot of shots from points. Their goalie was tested many times and didnt give up many rebounds. Stillwater is not on their game and hastings took advantage of it. Hats off to hastings and I look for them to be a strong contender for their section this year.

WBL 4, CDH 1

White Bear dominated most of the game, especially the third period. Again penalties were a problem for WBL. I believe the team took eight, including three by the same player. CDH could have taken advantage, but they also had some penalty trouble. CDH got their goal with a 5 on 3 advantage. CDH's 9th grade goalie make a lot of nice saves. Shots were 36 to 17 in favor of WBL.

The Hastings/Stillwater score does not surprise me. Hastings played very tough against the Bears, and I do not think Stillwater is the team it has been the past couple of years.

Looking forward to the Bears/Ponies matchup on the 19th.

12/8/09

Grand Rapids/Greenway (7AA) 4
Eveleth-Gilbert Area (7A) 3

Shots on goal: GRG - 26 EG - 17

Quite an interesting game considering that these two teams haven't played each other in 5 years. The score of that game was CONSIDERABLEY one sided (not sure on the exact score but it was around 14 - 0 in favor of GRG).

End of the 1st period, the score was even up at 0 - 0. End of the 2nd period, GRG scored 4 unanswered goals. During the 3rd period, EG fired up their fans (and quieted the GRG fans) by scoring 3 unanswered goals to make it a 4 - 3 hockey game. A time out was called by EG with a little over a minute left in regulation time. However, even after the time out, the score remained the same at the final buzzer; 4 - 3.

I give the EG team a lot of credit for the grit and determination during the 3rd period of play. They had the momentum going their way but they ran out of time to make a miraculous comeback to tie up the score. GRG is a very disciplined team and I am not sure if they sat back a little in the 3rd period or if EG started to concentrate more on a few key GRG players along with picking their own game up a bit.

There is a lot of talent on both teams and it shows as both teams have been to "the big show" at the Excel. Good luck to both teams for the remainder of the season.

Agreed, Hasting's veteran defense have been extremely tight and strong around the net and goalie Wical is the Jr. netminder to watch in this conference registering her 4th shout out in 9 games. Has anyone else noticed the inconsistancy in girl's reffing this year?

WBL had some trouble with penalties??? Let me see in the past 3 games they've had I think 6 - 5 against 3's. Most teams won't have that many all season. 8 games in. I think it's inexcusable. Penalties has cost them and will only get worse.

Positive remarks. Backup goalie was outstanding and 5 on 5 can play with anyone and seemed to be on the power play.
