Great game for Litch!
Now what happen to Marshall?? (good job Luverne)
And New Ulm, well at least you won.

Yep.. Marshall was flat out embarassed... Unacceptable loss.. Luverne caught every break... Better to be lucky than good i guess.... The puck just seemed to hop marshalls stick all night.... Some good things for marshall, "3rd string" goalie was real good. i have a hard time calling him a 3rd string as he would start for any other team in the southwest conference maybe even see more time in net..for marsh.. 3 deep of strong goalies for marshall... Luverne well they capitalized on two breaks that they got... i dont see them going to far. goaltending will be a major issue for that team come playoff time. but who knows..
Marshall has to find some consistency. plain and simple.
And about that litch game... cant believe they beat aaron davis.... Mounds goalie is the team. One man show it seems... stud.
This section just gets crazier every day....

"Better to be lucky than good i guess...." should be the Tigers motto sregit34! Come on, two of the lower 3A rated teams, Worthington & Fairmont scored 4 & 3 goals repectively against Luverne just last week, and the Tigers come up with a goose egg? Good Job Luverne and their core of Juniors! sregit, do you ever wonder how many Marshall wins were due to the puck bouncing the wrong way all night? With this type of performance, RV should have no problem with the Tigers at home on the 26th.

At this point, I see.
1. Hutch - tough sched, beating/hanging with some really legit programs
2. New Ulm - always tough when it counts, never count them out of any game or section play
3. Litch - better than they showed in NU last week, no one will walk over them in sections
4. Redwood - best of the rest right now, until the Marshall rematch, hard to judge because they don't play anyone
5. Marshall - finally playing a really tough sched, it may pay off if they keep learning, too up-and-down right now to put them any higher or lower
6. Windom - underachieving right now, but won't be fun to play in sections
looks like the tough schedule is really working out for the marshall tigers, losing luverne team that is 3-9-1

For one thing, read the rest of the comment.
Its why they aren't ranked higher, they don't play well every game, and they can absolutely stink up the place like they must have last night.
For another thing, it's one game out of 25. Every team on that list has had losses or games they've been disappointed about.
Its a fun section, very unpredictable.
Show up and play. You know NU/Hutch and Litch will be there at the end. The rest ALL have something to prove.
Marshall's been in the top 4 of their section something like 5 of the last 6 years. Redwood and the rest of the bottom-feeders might want to put together a string like that before they talk crap.
NU won last night. Thats what it goes in the books as. A win. They are taking care of business and improving. Just like they always do.
Should be a fun race to the finish. NU and Hutch clearly at the top right now.

I have to agree here. I think marshall outplayed luverne but they had a few defensive breakdowns that cost them. And until marshall learns that they have to shoot around a goalie, not into them, they won't have a chance at the section.

New Ulm looks to be playing really well right now and they did beat Hutchinson earlier in Hutchinson. They also have a win over a pretty decent Proctor team (#3 Hermantown beat Proctor 2-0 with an empty net goal) and a pasting of Litchfield doesn't hurt. Given all but 2 of the 3A teams come from the SE or SC conferences I'd think New Ulm has the inside track to the #1 seed.
One wildcard might be Redwood Valley, should they get by Marshall for the second time and win out they'd be 21-2 and haven't lost since Dec 1st., granted they have a much weaker schedule than New Ulm, Hutchinson, LDC, and Marshall but 20+ wins is tough to come by and hard to ignore, especially when noting Marshall did beat New Ulm.

Outside of redwoods upcoming marshall game it would be an absolute joke if they dont win out.... hmmm fairomonts, leseurs, minneapolis east and west.. come on. Marshalls the only test on the schedule.... but we will see what happens down the stretch.... imagine if new ulm lost to marshall, or do they play litch again??? or if hutch lost to a litch or marshall, or if hutch beats new ulm, or many other possibilities that could throw a curve in the rankings.... all of those are within reasonable possibility... so who knows... this section is crazy.

Morris?
Luverne?
Geez, its wasn't that long ago that Marshall would kill everyone by 15 goals in conference, now it appears that a change of the guard is in order. Marshall's talent level has gone down in the past few years, and it isn't getting better and the conference has improved enought to compete in the conference. Marshall's problem is based on undisciplined play, and it has always been that way for the past few years.
But seriously, one thing they got to do, SETTLE ON A GOALIE... Pick a goalie, and stick with him so they get some continunity. they had 3 games in 4 days, started 3 different goalies
Windom (Campion) W
Luverne (McCoy) L
Morris (Noble) L
3-10 after beating NU and those 3 wins had a combined season record of 11-28-2 (that includes Luverne's win over Marshall)
The rest of the way: I can see them going 4-4 or 5-3, making them about 11-14, 12-13 ish to end the season... and about a #5 seed in sections unless they REALLY tank.
BTW: Last year, with the 10 teams in the SWC (6) and SCC (4), about 6 teams had winning records (Marshall, Redwood, New Ulm, Waseca, Windom and Luverne)
This year as of right now: 2 teams (Redwood and New Ulm)

+1... first 4 games of the season campion was carrying marshall the whole way... Especially on the new ulm win. Not sure what the question is there but it seems like an obvious choice

sergit34, you really should just stop posting because you sound ignorant. If Marshall is as good as you say they are then maybe you should prove it. Perhaps, you should go to the rink and get a little practice in. Hey, maybe you could even get the starting job back.
M-TownSiv: The conference has not improved at all, Marshall just does not have the skill that they once possessed. As of right now, they are as bad as the rest of the conference has been since its origination.

Well I don't really know what to say cause I'm shaking so bad! Maybe if Marshall players wouldn't have pillaged there own village they wouldn't have been suspended. You loose to us Benders and u blame Redwoods Team. I will repeat myself again I have respect for every team in the Section. My problem is with Sregit34 and his disrespect of players and teams, This is so last year come up with new material! You should also check all posts I'm not the only one who thinks your a HOMER. I love how u mentioned all the easy teams we play and than u loose to them it just keeps getting better with time! Finally you can focus on your game with Redwood instead of overlooking all the teams in between, See ya Tuesday REMOH34

Hey man just stirrin the pot a little bit.. you know. It makes it a little more fun to play when eveybody is fired up about stuff... am i right? yeah. haha so what, i make"rididiculous" claims and crap, who cares... I like to get under peoples skin. and guess what its working like a charm. You should feel pretty good knowing youve allowed some punk high school kid to get on your nerves.. i got everybody razzled you know like sean avery... gets under the skin, so what, everybody hates him, but he plays his role. i believe my team can go all the way so why not. right....Marshall may not have the krogens of the world anymore on their team, but maybe thats a good thing. They dont gotta lean on one or two guys to go score goals and win games...Its all about team... when they all come together as a team. WATCH OUT...... Marshall is a bunch of benders..and bend they will......
Golfer 5 a bender isnt a bad thing...... every team needs at least one.
Alright lets play hockey then ay?
Calling me out huh.... hmm interesting

I am just sick of looking at all of the dumb things you post. You can talk after your big win over New Ulm, but when you have been playing as bad as you have been lately, you just need to play hockey instead of trying to "stir the pot" because you have to be able to compete in order for that to work.

Also, how is not having the Krogens not on your team a good thing?

Well they were great hockey players but... the fact is they dont have one of those type of guys as of right now, good players, but nobody who is gonna get 70points. so they need to rely on hard work and a team game... thats all im saying about that

Yes I know that they don't have one of those types of players. I am just failing to understand how that is a good thing.

idk maybe because they need to all fall on each other and not rely on this one stud to go get it done.. It gives everyone more incentive to go and get the job done because they cant just give the puck to some god and let them coast to coast and get 3 goals a game.. Everybody must take it upon themselves... You know what i mean.? im sure u do. Sure it might help to have a 70pt gaborik on your team but... surely isnt necessary tho...
