Never had a dog in the hunt at MM. doesn't fit with my philosophy of having fun. Or developing a sense of creativity.(MY views and don't rake me over the coals for writing that). I Have beat the Machine a time or two with a team I coached. (Somehow those losses tend not to get reported on) and also have lost a few. As far as the 15 supporting teams, I am on record as stating that capitalism is good and if you can't put a good product together you won't succeed. He must be doing something right to get people to give up the jing... My view on the sniper dangler etc AA teams is that he sells these teams as AAA and I just want to make a point that if you buy your way onto those teams you are getting what you pay for...So I don't think that I stated anything that I need to refrase unless you are taking everything I say literally. Looking to create some discussion with my devil  smiley.

What a thread this has turned into, the typical haters in full force. The usual montra, its always someone elses fault. It`s never the parents fault that a team implodes or their kid is cut from . Well HD41 i think your hearing from some of the problem parents, the experts just ask them. Take for example Puck, you brought back Mcmoney. That was a typical slur from judge and jury, oh but thats not you, whatever. Remember what you did to your kid, you got him kicked off of a Wisconsin team because of your mouth, what team will you get him cut from this summer. Some of the haters on this thread are the typical problem parents, do you really think they just spew the hate only on this thread. Muck you hear it from your friends, please come up with something a little more original.

I think the title of the thread may have given you a clue as to the content. Exactly what were you expecting guys? Did you expect a love fest Pucksahater? And to my fellow dog pal - well put - summed up my experience with MM as well. AA hockey at a AAA price but I am still an ardent admirer of the businessman himself! People are fighting over themselves to pay the inflated fees for a chance to play for the Machine. Kudos to Mr. McBain! (not sarcasm)

My question, i.e. the title of this thread was not intended to bash the already bashed MM program. I am really interested in whether the philosophy has changed or if it is a one player exception.

Just a guess but bet it's a one player exception, at least until they pay the check...Different rules apply when you are trying to attract the talent. Parents beware - don't drink orange koolaide - really bad after-taste (and HD41 I never have a kid cut from a Machine team so please don't bother to copy everyone's response and then add a comment)

Thanks for your clarification. I think different philoshies are good for the game. I think the skill development these kids get especially pre-body contact pays serious dividends when these kids move on in the game whether or not they continue to wear orange. As far as skill development goes no one does it better from what I can tell. Becoming a learned player comes from good coaching and direction. The more well rounded the more fun is had and more learning continues. I think this is the gray area everyone questions with MM hockey. There are some great coaches at MM outside of Bernie that do attempt to teach the game however restrained by a set system. Might need to cut these guys a little slack. However keep it up coach sounds like you might be one of the good ones, relish those wins, we'll see ya on the ice this summer.

After reading the past posts on this subject, you either love MM or you hate it, no getting around that. One can sum up MM and Bernie this way. It's a very simple business model. There is one group of teams that matter and it is the Machine. The other AAA teams and the Made have one purpose and that is to bring in revenue so the doors at the Made can stay open. The Machine's purpose is to win. That's it!
