So stop crying and give EGF the credit they deserve for WINNING the game. To back EGF up a little for todays game the had to kill 8 grand rapids powerplays and only got 3 penalty called for them, and still grand rapids only outshot them by 10. Todays game against rapids was pretty darn close actually in 5 on 5 play. To finalize my post East Grand Forks (pop. 7,500) 2 Maple Grove (pop. 60,000) 1
Did you watch the game or did you play in it? You must of been watching a different game....

Last time I checked you have to put the puck in the net more times than the other team to win. Lets see EGF 2 pucks in net, OMG 1 puck in net. Hey we have a winner------EGF--------. Dose not matter how good of a team OMG has on paper. Like Kenny Mane says "Games not played on paper but in television sets." Auctually watched on my tv too. Congrats to EGF. Now stop the whining. Rapids win's title today 3-1.

2 teams that deserve to be in title game. By far the best 2 teams in the State Tournament - Grand Rapids and Woodbury.
Will Woodbury's depth wear down Grand Rapids like they did against Cloquet and Wayzata. Woodbury dominated Cloquet and Wayzata in the 3rd period with Wayzata only getting 2 shots on net in 3rd and Cloquet only getting 4-5.
Grand Rapids big guns - #8 and #14 have scored the 75% of their goals this weekend while Woodbury's #9 and #14 have scored the same!
Goalies are strong for each team and hopefully it will be a classic championship game.
Prediction - depth of Woodbury and top end talent will give Woodbury the edge 4-2!
Posts about OMG and EGF - EGF deserved the win - OMG played a poor game and didn't deserve to win. If OMG and EGF played 10 times, OMG would probably win 8-9 times, but on Friday and in a single elimination tournament, EGF was better.
OMG can get some redemption today by winning the Consolation game and winning their last game of the season!!

Woodbury 2 Grand Rapids 1 Final
Good Game! Two goals in tight by Woodbury. Grand Rapids goal great use of the Woodbury defender as a screen high over glove.

And as a kicker....
EGF - 3
Big rich Wayzata = 0 for third place
Not bad for a team that some are picking on.....

Maybe EGF should opt up to AA.

Classic championship game. Just like I anticipated!!
Woodbury only gave up 13 shots the whole game, deeper team and their top end players were better than Grand Rapids top end players!
Great game between 2 deserving teams. A lot of blocked shots, minimal breakdowns, not many 2 on 1's or 3 on 2's. Woodbury scored game winner on power play in 3rd. Grand Rapids tried hard to get the game tying goal late in the game but couldn't penetrate Woodbury's D zone coverage.
Excellent game all the way through and Woodbury deserved Championship, better team slightly. Outshot GR 23-13.

EGF has a very good team. Wayzata was probably lucky to even be here this year (easy Region). With 8 first-years on the team, they had a lot of catching-up to do. On the flip-side, those 8 first-years now have a year of Bantam A hockey under their belt and may be well positioned for next year.

Grand Rapids was classless during medal presentation. Woodbury players individually shook hands with the Grand Rapids players as they got their 2nd place medals but when Woodbury got their the Rapids players did not shake their hands as is customary. Grand Rapids coaches and players showed no class at all, very disappointing to see after a great game that could have gone either way.

I watched the game and i saw both teams shake hands twice. How many handshakes does your kid need to have?

If they are smart, none of them will....Why break a team up that can win state at their age level...no reason to split the talent..hopefully the kids and parents realize this.
That, and Im so bored of HM and the credit they get for bringing a selects team to state each year...*yawn*

Unfortunately, some will be going to H-M, some to Woodbury and some to East Ridge. Of the first line, they are split between at least those 3 schools.

It happens to White Bear every year, its only going to get worse unless the powers at be get rid of the private schools in the HS tourny.

Some of the fastest paced bantam games i've seen. All the teams played extremely well. Overall great weekend of hockey

NO, I would not have been the same way. Thats the problem with youth hockey today, winning is ALL that matters. It's is not OK to act that way no matter how you lost the game. Its a GAME and the coaches should hold their players accountable for their behavior. But I blame the coaches just as much or more because they did nothing to correct the behavior. No excuse!

How many times do you need to shake hands? Honestly.
