well yea, but thats obvious, especially now his grandson is on the team... But Nanne is actually a good commentator unlike woog, who is actually more annoying than housley
That's for sure that Woog is a lot more annoying. I would rather listen to Housley any day.

Agreed.

Kevin Gorg is terrible. Again, I would rather listen to Housley over Doug Woog or Kevin Gorg any day.

Housely sounds a lot like the players they interview after the games, and why shouldn't he he is at their education level. I mean he graduated from S. ST Paul and then went to the NHL I am sure he was not part of any study groups while he played in the Pros. =P~

He doesn't seem to know the rules. Stammers his way through what he's saying. Just plain terrible, can't stand listening to him.

I'd bet that the majority of you guys and gals couldn't do any better.
I take that bet. There is 0 doubt in my mind that I could do a better job.
Then apply for the job so that everyone can cut you down next year.
As long as my contract is finding out where the cheapest gas is, put my name down.

Someone tell Channel 45 to pay the money to get Don Cherry next year. Love him or hate him Don Cherry keeps you listening.

I would bet that he makes a good 5% of people or more not watch the games on TV because they can't stand his announcing. I can't withstand more than a little while of his hockey 'insights'. This is the best hockey mind in the state? They want more viewers? Get a replacement for Housley.

Not really Housley's fault. Let him be in on the studio show. Have professional hockey announcers call the games. FSN could do a lot better.

Lets keep guys in there that have close ties to MN HS, youth, college, and pro hockey. Not some guy who hasn't been around our hs hockey and is pro-canadian, major jr hockey. That's my vote anyway.

I thought Housley did a pretty good job in the final. Just my opinion -

I thought he was just fine in the entire tournament. Just as good as Clay Matvik and Lou Nanne.

If you are getting paid to do this, at least put a little studying in before you get on the air -- it's not like you have a day job! Just because you were a good player doesn't mean you will be a good announcer or a good coach. All this proves is that the station has no standards for quality; rather, they just want a 'famous' name and they hope no one will notice the eighth grade vocabulary and syntax being used. It's an insult to our intelligence for them to assume the viewers are satisfied with this guy after all the years he's been on--if they cared what the viewers think they'd get a decent replacement. Of course they will never boot him; hopefully he wises up and sees he's doing more bad than good to his reputation doing this job.
so did you watch? as said above he doesn't have a day job so what does he really care about what all or us thnk? by the way he has a 12th grade education and themn went pro on to his way to not needing a day job.

How about sharing a little of this Housley-love with Darby? The only thing positive I can say about him is that finally somebody wrestled him down and gave him a haircut you can actually look at. I would say he is definately in that Housley-Woog-Gorg category. I think Nanne has improved and spread the love much more than he used to. I don't notice his love for Edina as much anymore. He is also credible.
I am surprised that in the state of hockey we can't do a little better. The Wild and Gopher games are hard to listen to, and feature marginal talent in my opinion.
They do provide for some great comedy though: can't beat those "on ice" segments the mighty-mites from the announcing group do for the Wild broadcasts. Like a bad American Idol act. Over and over.
Oh, to have Al Shaver back......
