Zero Minnesota girls to UMD for the 2012-2013 season this fall?

Any other updates for the senior girls? Stuck at 20?

While I'd agree that the CHA is mainly an eastern league, I don't know that we can consider Lindenwood, which is west of Madison, to be out East.

Congrats to MN players

Great start by MN 2012 recruits in the WCHA and Hockey East. Not a surprise based on their HS careers. Many other recruits are playing exceptionally well but don't show up on the stat sheet.

WCHA: Hannah Brandt is averaging 3.0 pts/game through first 8 games and is 2nd in goals and scoring and tied for 1st in assists. She leads all Freshman in WCHA scoring by 2x. Melicia McMillen is 3rd in Defensemen scoring with 8 pts and leads all Freshman D in Goals and assists. Sam Lashom is tied for 10th in Defensemen scoring with 3 pts after 6 games.

HOCKEY EAST: Sara Carlson, Jonna Curtis and Molly Illikanien are tied for 10th in league scoring and 3rd in freshman scoring after 5, 5 and 6 games respectively. Carlson is 3rd in the league in goals/game, 7th in pts/game and sixth in plus/minus. Curtis is 5th in assists, 7th in pts/game and leads all freshmen in helpers. Illikainen is tied for 11th in pts/game. Curtis and Illikainen have had game-winning goals. Lexi Slattery leads all Freshman D in +/- at +7 after 6 games.

Lindenwood is actually in St. Charles, MO, just to the west of St. Louis. It is a small, private school, with a strong athletic presence across club and Div II sports. Women's hockey has a 10-year record of club hockey, including several national club championships. They moved up to D1 last year. They are the closest D1 hockey program to Minnesota, outside of Wisconsin and North Dakota.
