If my source was wrong I apologize. I have nothing bad to say about Ryan Kraft and was simply stating what I heard from what I thought was a reliable source and if you know Kraft then you would know more about it than I would. I couldn't agree more about wanting that program to succeed and having the proper leadership there to do that. If Ryan Kraft is that person at some point I am sure he will get a shot to do so. If he was willing to help out last year and the brick wall stood in his way, that hurt the program and it sounds like the wall has been taken down so hopefully he will get a chance to get involved and help. Lets just hope this program starts moving in direction where it can be even more successful than it has been.

Is this the same Trent Eigner who coached the El Paso Buzzards in about 2002 or so?

Well there is a few things. One he was one of the people to help build the half sheet of ice in Rosemount. and two, there is an article about a head coach that was fired from a junior team--google the name and you will see the allegations. Not trying to spread rumors... I was not aware of who he is and was just making a general search. so can anyone acknowledge or deny these allegations?

Coach Rabbitt,

If you'd bother to continue with the Eigner google, you'd have found he was fully exonerated!!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hockey ... oundup_ap/

If you weren't trying to start rumors, why did you even mention it?? Grow up, give the guy a chance.

Karl and Lee, feel free to blow away both Rabbitt's and my posts!! Frankly, I don't think the allegation should be here, but also believe that if it is, it should be the full story.

Made a minor edit to CoachRabbit's post to try to keep things from getting blown out of proportion. The SI article makes it very clear he was cleared of all charges.

Ryan Kraft has apparently agreed to join Trent on his staff for the upcoming season. This will be a very good coaching staff that Lakeville North should be excited about.

My son has had the opportunity to skate for Trent at the youth level and he is undoubtedly one of the best coaches I have seen on and off the ice. I just wish we could have kept him in Rosemount.

No more excuses! LNHS has the "super staff" that should take the team, HS and town to greatness. I hope the boys are ready to hit the ice for the greatest season of their lives. 31-0-0 baby!

Oh, sorry, forgot the coaches can't play in the games. Oops.

It is not about the x's and o's, it is all about who has the athletes.

Frankly, whether you believe it or not I am not on sides. I do not have a kid in the program (or as some people say I have no Dog in the fight) or do i ball-wash the previous coaching staff. It was and is a time for a change in Lakeville hockey. If you look at my previous posts, i believe that you might get a sense that I want what is best for this program. And by no means am I trying to undermine the process or the coaching staff at Lakeville North. I obviously did not have any insider information about the allegations and was simply putting it out there to get an answer as did Nahc. Anyone that cares about the program should be entitled to asking or questioning something like this. And I am sure that before we talk hockey, that this will be top on the list of questions that the parents will ask their new head coach. And no offense, but news articles and their writers do a very good job of distorting facts. Thats their job, to make a story. It would have been a non-story if a no namer was found of these allegations. In addition, thanks for the archive search and exoneration evidence. But dont come here thinking that I am trying to start defaming or mudwashing people. Its a relevant question.

. . . so an unfounded accusation from 9 years ago is relevant???? Please explain how! As to my "archive search" I simply googled his name. The exoneration was three articles after the accusation. As you can tell by the number of posts I've had in this thread, I don't give a rat's rear end who is the coach of LN. I know none of the people involved, old or new.

You claim you are not defaming or "mudwashing". . . yet you felt a need to post a 9-year-old accusation without making any attempt to find out if it was true. I suppose gossip is probably a better word for what you did.

I heard the same thing. The School Board tabled the hiring of the new coach because of a grievance that was filed by Randy. If this is true, an investigation has to happen before any decision can be made on who will be the head coach.

What in the world are the administrators and hockey board thinking in Lakeville with the possibility of hiring Trent Eigner? I can't believe he was even interviewed.

Because he has been a successful coach in other locations?

.........And where was he successful? (squirts) He created nothing but problems for the boys program in Rosemount. What about his trail of character issues? He is not a good fit for a high school program and Lakeville can do much better if there is a change in coaches which I hope their isn't.

To Randy Schmitz, I say Thank You for your many years, you were loved by some, hated by many. Almost removed once before, if it was not for your friends in the LHS admin, you would have been gone long ago. To Paul Rutt, You've just been fired for a second time from the same program, take a hike buddy. Change is good, change brings on new idea's and a fresh perspective.

the new era has begun at LNHS, even denny, or even norm green got let less press after their time. Lets focus on tearing down the new coaching staff if warranted at North.

The Krafty new coaches at LNHS will focus on repairing (not tearing) the program and deserve respect.

Respect is Earned by a coach and his staff not given from the get go. Hopefully they can earn that respect throughout this season. The problem they may run into is they could have a very tough season with the loss of Lindgren in the nets and no experienced goaltender in the program. Lakeville North made two straight state tournament appearences and roughly 7 or 8 section finals in a row with what everyone is saying was terrible coaching. What will they say if this so called super but very inexperienced staff can't get the team there. Will the parents have their heads or give them a break just because of their names?
