She would be my choice by far.
She's one of the best people that I've come across in my time as a coach. She's very unselfish. She's highly talented.NE14HKY wrote:hockeygod wrote:Something I noticed about Laura May of Mahtomedi is that she plays both ends of the ice, and even though she can out skate most of her team mates for a breakaway everytime she touches the puck she brings the puck up with her line and they get 2 or three shots on goal rather than just the one she would have gotten with a breakaway, She plays the best positional hockey that I've seen, makes the people around her better and is a true leader. ive seen her play a time or two and i agree. the puck is like glue on her stick. and she is deffinetly not selfish.
In terms of overall point production check here:Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Any stats? I couldn't find them.
Nice to see some Class A representation on this list. Technically I guess half the kids play on Class A teams, although BSM opted up to AA.gopher9 wrote:Star Tribune has just anouced the top ten finalist.
ERIN JOHNSON
ERIN CODY
MARIA STOA
ASHLAND LAMBERT
JENA KILPATRICK
AMALE WINDEMEIR
TERA RASMUSEN
CATHERINE CHUTE
AMANDA TRUNZO
LAURA MAY
Bah! Ambroz got snuffed. She has 74 points. Only 1 behind Kilp.gopher9 wrote:Star Tribune has just anouced the top ten finalist.

So then what are the official qualifications for Ms. Hockey?MNHockeyFan wrote:In terms of overall point production check here:Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Any stats? I couldn't find them.

Of course the decision should not be based solely on who is the points leader but it seems to always be a major component of who wins.
Here's the link & some info.:Nostalgic Nerd wrote:So then what are the official qualifications for Ms. Hockey?MNHockeyFan wrote:In terms of overall point production check here:Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Any stats? I couldn't find them.

As the top points getter in AA, and against a tougher SOS than the other leaders, she should certainly receive serious consideration! The fact that she's a straight "A" student with a scholarship to a top Ivy League school shouldn't hurt either.dangla wrote:Trunzo will win it
Yes. I believe so.gopher9 wrote:I think the college coaches vote on this? Does anybody know?
OK, I'll play along with this--throw stats out the window and go see these players in person. I've seen 7 of the 10. I'll take Catherine Chute. I have no idea what her stats look like compared to the others. I'd bet the voters aren't real concerned about stats either.I'm not saying that a Class A player can't be Ms Hockey, I'm only saying they might be judged tougher and maybe that's legitimate. Regardless of what kind of stats one rolls up in class A, there will always be those who say "yeah but what if she had to play AA?".
And I too agree with you and your selection, having now seen all but one of these players in action. Chute is comfortably in the top ten in scoring, probably top 4 among seniors; haven't looked lately. But it's more than stats that count and she has all the intangibles and from what I saw is an unbelievable 2-way player. IMHO she would be the most impactful player on any team, regardless of class, but we'll see how the voters feel.Bensonmum wrote:keepitreal wrote:OK, I'll play along with this--throw stats out the window and go see these players in person.
