Bemidji tied tonight with a bad Huntsville team 5-5. Bemidji is in a mini-slump, they need to re-group and get hot to win their conference tourney and get into the tourney.

I see they bounce back with a 3-1 victory. Is this Lehrke brothers with the high school player?

Please elaborate on budget cut. I was watching their game in St.Cloud this week end on Charter and they spoke to their asst coach who was talking about fundraising and expansion into WCHA, but I only caught the end of it-thanks

Over the next five years BSU (all state univ I believe) are being forced to make cuts (not just in sports).

The driving force in BSU athletics will be the hockey program.
If they can raise pledges of $2.5 million and get accepted into the WCHA, the hockey program remains as is. The other sports programs will also have little change.

If not, the hockey program will change? How?? Well, that was not talked about. And if that happens the other programs will also be 'changed' (down sized, dropped????).

No one knows for sure what MAY happen.
Thus all the gossip, talk, what-ifs???

The WCHA ap will be for the 2008-2009 season.
WCHA is on a moratorium, but appaerntly they are willing to look at the proposal. Of course, Bemidji's event center is a big part of this - both ways.

Thanks for the update-kind of ironic that SCSU was approved on a second committee in the legislature for $11.5 million in expansion improvements in the National Hockey Center as long as boosters as well can raise $2 million. I think it has a few more stops before it is final, but is moving along. Goes to show you how much big time college hockey is in this state when hockey at SCSU funds all other programs!

BSU is beaten by Robert-Morris tonight 7-5. R-M goes on to face Alabama-Huntsville for the CHA title.

that is very unfortunate but BSU did play a very very poor 2nd half of the season.

Hopefully they will come back strong next year as i heard through the grapevine that their is an extremely talented group of incoming freshmen for the 2007-2008 Bemidji State Hockey Campaign

Hopefully we wil get a chance to see BSU make a good run next year.

They open vs Army at home. Looking for Travis Winter to help out with the scoring a little more as well as Tyler Lehrke(my hope) and some others. I say Beaver sweep.

Hopefully the Beavers can have a good season. I'll be pulling for them, but we'll see what happens to them they lost two good offensive threats in Erickson and Holman.

GO BEAVERS!!!!!!!
