Talk about wasted spots on a schedule. Keep scheduling LOW, Crox, EGF then. Should have dumped Warroad from the schedule in the 60's. For the past ten years you could consider Roseau a wasted spot on Warroad's schedule.

Try THINKING before you post.

The real story

This is the biggest rivalry in the state with no matter what the season has done, both teams are going to come to play. With that said, Warroad is going to win or lose with Jake V. But here is the thing that no one has even brought up about the kid.
He is a BIG GAME goalie! However, you have to look at the reasons why Coach Oliver cut th kid in the first place. He is a headcase and Oliver knows from past expirience that he hates headcase goalies.
If you get one goal on Jake, he takes it to heart. If you get two, he gets pissed. If you get three, he is done. But just like any goalie that has that mentality, if he gets a couple of saves early, he can play like the best goalie in the state. Roseau needs to get in his head, I don't care how but just do it. Yea, you are saying just play the game, but if you have ever played in a Roseau/Warroad game you know it is more than just playing the game. Look how the "Chiefs" would win... get in the goalie's head and don't let up. haha or as the famous missed asst. coach Wierson would say... buzz the tower right away! For Roseau's end, Alex Bjerk will stand on his head. He has had the State game from last year in his head, Mike Lee in his head... Everyone knocks Alex, he will come to play and show everyone he deserves it, I just hope he doesn'tmake a mistake because Oliver has been slowly getting Lee ready to play... if Bjerk screws up Lee is right there.
I'm excited... It is either going to be a blowout with Roseau up 5 goals, or a tight game with Roseau 4, Warroad 3.

Funny, I don't ever recall seeing anything but positive things said about Bjerk on here. So if Alex stumbles they're not going with BigRoy07. If that's the case why'd they keep him too? LOW could have used a goalie.

I guess the intensity of the comments on this thread is evidence of what makes this rivalry so unique.
FYI - the New York Times might be coming on Thur., a birdie told me.
Hmm little birdie may be right. Not sure if coming to game or just doing an article.
But when the likes of a publications such as that is talked about then you obviously must have something special between these two teams.
I honestly dont think the rest of the state truly understands the depth of this whole rivalry. Not just about the game. It goes straight across the board in all sports. I.E. even a courthouse issue. Some may remember that as well.
Nuff said. Go Rams!!!

I guess I do apologize, there hasn't been negative things thrown at Bjerk, although with Lee having 3 straight shutouts in his first three games... people begin to talk and question why Lee isn't starting. I believe Sean is an excellent goalie as well, however Oliver has been priming Lee for more Varsity time for the future. Why did they keep Sean, I am sure Lundy will have some political answer for that but I think it was just the fact that they were not going to dress three goalies and a senior cannot play on JV. Unless you are birdmister and that Era. Go Rams

R U kidding me. Warroad has won 9 of the last 10 games?

When I think of Roseau goalies......
The last hot head goalie named Jake won the State Title. Had a good college career. So maybe being a hot head might not be bad.
Then there was that kid on the 90 team. He was awesome. What was that goalies name?
Jeremy Kvien? Ryan Vatnsdal? I can't remember of hand.
Then I think about the greatest goalie performance of all time in Roseau history. Had to be.
Eric Martinson... Stopped multiple breakaways in a Roseau All-Star Game.
Does anyone remember the shooters? I can't remember there was too much beer in the refs room.
