Great win for the boys, but...

With a tie game, two out and two on in the top of the ninth, do you send Mike Boofin Lamb in to pinch hit? Even for Monroe? Ya gotta be kiddin me!

Mike Boofin Lambs career is as dead as a Liberal Arts Major. (No offense Admin)

As bad as their bragain basemnet purchases have been the last few years, we have to give them credit for recognizing the mistakes and putting the young guys in.

But its July and Mike Boofin Lamb is still being relied upon in key situations.

Thats right, Mike Lamb.

Mike Boofin Lamb...I mean, yah gotta be kiddin me.

Two nights ago: The Twins had the game in hand late and went on to lose, meanwhile the Sox were in line to lose but came away winners.

Yesterday: The Twins were in line to lose but came away winners, meanwhile the Sox had the game in hand late and went on to lose.

Today: devastating season-ending loss

Tomorrow: the win that will be bring on the division championship

Day after: the loss that will set the tone for the ENTIRE second half

Day after: ridiculous All Star week nonesense

Day after: "Because now it Counts"

Day after: the worst sports day of the calendar year

Day after: the second worst sports day of the calendar year

Day after: The first game of the rest of the season

The Twins as a team are batting .343 when they put the first pitch in play, and .205 when they have any 2 strike count.

See the Boofin strike, hit the Boofin strike. Thats a good at bat!

Should the Twins look to acquire a setup man before the deadline? Discuss.

P.S. - Screw the iPhone.

Did you spend all night waiting and the store run out?

I'm just waiting until they open up the service providers to Verizon.
I will never go to ATT

While the Twins took a hit with Rincon's un-juiced performance and Neshek's injury, I think Guerrier, Crain, and Reyes have done a very good job of set-up man by commitee. Not as good as the last few years, but still one of the best in the majors. Getting anyone now that would fill that role any better, like say Brian Fuentes, would be too costly in terms of players.

Moves that need to be made during the break:

Livantana  Bye
Boof  Mop ups until he can locate his not so fastball and develop a change up.
Bass  Down, or if out of options  Bye
Lamb  Bye
Monroe  Bye

Liriano  replaces Livantana
Cuddyer  righthanded DH, spot 1B, when healthy.
Macri  Up until Cuddyer's healthy.
Barrett  Up to replace Bass. 2.32 era, 60K's in 50 innings at Toledo.

In the spirit of trade season, here are the Top 7 Worst Trades of the Decade. Of particular interest to Twins fans is #1.

Should board posters be allowed to pose these types of questions in a thread, and then completely abandon the discussion? Discuss.

1. Giants/Twins
Giants receive: A.J. Pierzynski
Twins receive: Boof Bonser, Francisco Liriano, and Joe Nathan

Brian Sabean must have been on crack
Ha ha. Nice one, Giants.

Morneau is in the HR Derby again. Wonder if he was a last resort for MLB or something? It took forever to get around to him.

You would think that they'd want to include as many left handed mashers as they could at Yankee Stadium, but maybe after his poor performance last year, they were trying to find somebody else.

In any case, I'm going out on a limb () and taking Josh Hamilton to win it. I'll also say he'll hit at least one of them 500 feet.

Berkman's got it in the bag. And Morneau makes 2nd round.

I'll believe it when I see it, but if they make any move before the deadline (which I don't believe they will), it would be for a right handed bat with some pop... and this one coincidentally plays the plays the left side of the infield, so that doesn't hurt either. They're pretty well established everywhere else.
Evidently, the Twins have now actually talked to Seattle about Beltre.

They'd probably make us take Silva back in any deal. FORGET IT!

Leave Buscher at 3rd, backed up by Punto, Harris, and Tolbert when he comes off DL.

Right handed DH maybe, but its alot of money for that.
