There's a little blurb on the Strib website that points out that while Liriano's agent is obviously doing this on his behalf, the same guy also represents Livan who would likely be the odd man out if Liriano were to be called up.

Perkins at 98 pitches, no chance he comes out for the 7th. Great job against a tough lineup.

Breslow wasn't hurt by the rest. Nice 1-2-3 inning. You think he's happy about the trade?

Killer Kubel knocks in two, Delmon drives in another with his 4th hit of the game. Buscher slapped an RBI single for good measure.

Beltre is signed through next year as well, so that makes him a good choice in my eyes. Cuddy and Livan for Beltre? I'd take it.
Poor Seattle, first Silva, now Livan....

Saw this little line in article about Baker on ESPN.com...
"The Twins' remaining opponents combine for a .494 winning percentage and average 4.44 runs per game; the American League average is 4.64 runs per game,"
For the record - the Twins' runs per game average is just under 5 (4.94). Looks like the only winners left on the schedule are the Yankees (6 games), Rays (4), Angels (4), and the White Sox (7... all at the Dome)... Technically Oakland would be on the list at the moment, but the way they're selling everything off, I'm guessing that won't be the case by the time they come to town in mid-August - besides, they have Frank Thomas, and just having him around almost guarantees a couple of losses per series, right?
Beyond those teams, the teams they play with losing records among the very worst in the league... Cleveland (9), KC (9), and Seattle (9... Hi ho Silva!).
So you're telling me there's a chance?!

Beltre for Livan and Cuddy.........I think it would be like stealing.
But why would Seattle do that? Have they got a young 3rd basemen that needs playing time?
Livan and Carlos in the rotation.........I'll tell yah, It('s) would be Like A Nightmare

What's the number?
What's it gonna take?
The Twins will play game #100 tonight.
Both the Sox and Twins have won 55 so far.
How many will it take to win the division?
I say all they need to do is win 37 of the last 63 to win it.
92 wins and they are in.
The winner gets a beer on packerboy at the Liffey come March.
elliott is not eligible because he never buys anyway.

I will say 90
and when I order the one beer, can I order one keg?
I would like to share something the others rarely get to experience.

So is it how many to get 1 more win than the 2nd place team? Or how many the team that wins it ends up with?

oh sure now the barrister will establish guidelines - before we could argue either way and improve our chances of having a cold one poured for us.
