I was about to say the same thing Alex is a very good team. Honestly, I just let the Luverne fans talk on here now they just dig themselves a deeper hole when it comes to common mn hockey knowledge and respect for other programs.

longtime reader third time poster. I've not seen anywhere where people are calling for the Luverne coaches heads? maybe people could lead me to those posts.
I do believe the top four teams in the section are all really good teams and each team could beat any team in a one game playoff. However, I don't see how people can pick anyone but Luverne to come out of the section just based on what they've accomplished this year. For instance yesterday a four hour bus ride up north and they came out and put up a couple quick goals. out shoot them by a wide margain as well.

Honestly, Any of the Top 4 teams as you said have a great chance of going to state. If we go by coaching then Willmar has a huge advantage as far as System Play goes. Coach Tollefson does a great job there and will have his boys ready! New Ulm's Coach Setterholm has led three of his team's in prior years to State so he knows as well what it takes to get there. Hutchinson have heard not a lot of good things from fans of their staff but was told they are going to win despite them. Luverne as has been posted before basically plays an open hockey type style. There is no system or reason behind their play. Luverne wins because their talent out ways the lack of coaching.

I like Willmar, New Ulm, Hutch because they play a more balanced schedule and will know how to play in tight games in the playoffs. Your not going to win games 7-1, 6-2, 10-2 in the playoff Semi-finals and Finals. I like those three teams because of that.

Willmar has a great coaching and a STRONG Senior class. They have been there and done that. You need seniors to win in playoffs.

New Ulm has many boys who are Juniors and Seniors that have the State tournament experience from 2 years ago.

Hutch has a large group back from last year whop made a run to the finals as a 6 seed. They understand the underdog upset role they played it will last year and I look for them to have a run this year.

This year one of them moved over to the girls team.

Leaving one head coach, and opening up an assistant spot.

I stated last year I thought Coach Ammerman would been a great fit for what Luverne has going in the youth. However, moving to Moorhead what a great move for him.

Luverne for their geography will struggle getting a quality coach. I have often wondered if they could ever get someone from the USHL Sioux Falls Stampede to be their coach? Might be an avenue to look into for their program.

To my knowledge Luverne still has the same leadership that led to the choke last year. So coaching is still not an area of strength for Luverne.

It will be interesting to see if they choke again this year if a big shake up, that many were calling for last year, will occur.

Lots of Pressure of Cards as they head into Playoffs. But hey they earned it this is what the faithful wanted: Huge Target on Their back!
