I'd be in if you needed people to fill out the league.

I'll go with 41-27
I went to a lot of games last year, those cheap Sunday afternoon seats with my younger son were too tempting to pass up when they started winning, but all told it was probably less than twenty games though I'd have to check to be sure. As seasons go it was probably the best ever, I can already tell it'll be one that my son and I will always remember. Could've used a better ending though...

Let's hope LeCroy doesn't make Gardenhire cry like Frank Robinson (it was seven stolen bases and two throwing errors before he got pulled in the 7th that drove Frank to tears). If they needed a 3rd catcher they should've gone with a good defensive catcher, they already have two good hitters in the spot, Gardy could work himself into a conundrum if he has to put LeCroy in the field. I think you guys may have pegged it, that it's more a move for chemistry in the clubhouse but I'd rather see a move that helps out in the field.

I like the Ramon Ortiz pickup, I think he'll be a good no.3-4 starter who'll eat up some innings which is what they really need. I do see shades of Radke, he led the AL in 2002 in homers given up and was 4th in 2005 and 2nd in 2006 in the NL.

Shannon Stewart signed with Oakland Athletics. Should we have tried to keep him? I think he may have a another year or two of productivity but overall it was probably best to not resign him. Although I don't think White is the answer. Hopefully Kubel can put up the power numbers he is capable of.

I think to start the year we are going to rely heavily on slugging and as the year progresses our pitching staff will solidify with Garza and Baker.

Absolutely Not

He may play another year or two, but he'll be hurt for most of it. He was a fine player for the Twins, but his time with them was over.

I agree 100%. He had some good moments with the Twins, but his better days are well behind him, it was time to part ways. Good to see him catch on with a new team though, he is a classy guy with some solid pinch-hitting/platooning left him.

This has nothing to do with baseball but I don't want to start a thread for a simple question. When do tickets go on sale for the state hockey tourney? I ask because I have always gotten them from players who didn't use there's. How do I go about getting them?

Either gotta find a school that is in it and get them there. Or go down hours before the game and stand in line at the ticket window. Or scalpers.

Twins and Joe Mauer agree to 4-year deal that will run through 2010. 4 years, 33 million. Nice to see the team lock up one of their young studs. Hopefully more deals like this are on the way.

FSN just released the upcoming television schedule for the Twins. 144 out of the 162 games will be televised a new record. I have quickly glanced at the schedule but it seems like there are numerous occasions where they broadcast 10-15 games in a row.

Great. I would guess there will be some games on channel 45 and ESPN too. Maybe even a game of the week on the networks if the Yankees and Red Sox aren't playing.

That's a sharp increase from last year, which if I recall correctly was in the 120's. Nice to see a large chunk of the games being broadcast, I can't stand it when they're not on TV.

12 should be good. I would be surprised if we get 12, so 10 is more probable.

10-12 is perfect. Any more than that and the talent thins out too quickly.

Boys, I have never been into being a member of the "thread police" but can we keep the fanatsy baseball stuff elsewhere?

This thread is a great thread on Twins baseball and documents one of the most improbable regular seasons in franchise history starting when they reached the .500 mark in June of 06.

Please dont turn it into a fantasy baseball thread.
