Another phenominal D6 BB1 league game.

Burnsville ties the game with just over 2 minutes to play. Tonka scores the game winner on a ESPN highlight 1 on 1 move.

says alot about a team not folding under late game adverse conditions.

and to think no idiot parent doing a Howard Cosell impression to take away from the kids' performance.

Burnsville has a very nice team, that's a great win - good luck later this week, keep it up

Thanks and good luck against Blake this week.

Sounds like your team needs to get back to the hard workin' team you showed off in GR.

Are you a "black bear this year"? If so, I like your team!

Yes, Tonka has been progressing very nice all year. They have played most of the top teams in the state close with the exception of a couple games this year.

I think they are beginning to see that playing hard and focusing can reap some rewards in the form of wins.

25 Lakeville South 61.6 19-9-5
As alluded to in previous posts, LOTS of movement. White's rough weekend really took a toll on them. I must comment before others do - yes, I know Red beat Blaine. I don't like how the current system handles these blowouts, as the Blaine massacre of Mora (16-1) has a bigger effect than I feel is justified. Just not sure, as yet, how I want to handle this.

Pioneer... Looking at the records, I don't think you picked up the Sunday game between EP Red and Blaine.

I think Minnhock rankings max the goal spread at 6 goals to handle the massacres.

Blaine beat Chisago 1-0 last night. Terrific game from start to finish. This Chisago team is the real deal.

wow - nice win Tonka - I was wrong on the outcome on that one for sure! Burnsville and Tonka both very very solid squads - D6 will be interesting to wwatch over the next two weeks - every game counts big time from here on in to the playoffs!

my2cents... Was the Blaine/Chisago game even from a shots perspective as well. How would you describe the Chisago club? The D10 playoffs could be as exciting as the D6 playoffs.

Right you are LesHabs... forgot to enter that one. The top gets squeezed:

Pioneer- thanks for taking the time to do this

remember all, it is a snapshot of the entire season based on results. If you don't like your ranking keep winning. This is a far better poll than LPH

Nice to see an unknown program like Chisago Lakes do well and get credit.

Re Pioneer:

First off thanks for taking the time for putting together your rankings for all of us to banter about. But it would be nice to see a higher premium for winning and not losing. Does it realy matter if you win by 1 goal or 15 goals?

Just for an example Woodbury is 35-6-3 and ther only 13th but have beaten Blaine, Chisago Lakes, Jefferson, Stillwater, Centennial Red & tied Edina White. Of course they have lost some games but so has everyone else.

Just a thought

Wow you mean Chaska's only consistent match-up has been the ability to convincingly beat Woodbury twice and account for 33% of their losses. Of course they were just scrimmages and not important contests. Just shows how it's anybody's game if you are in the top 20, play your A game, keep your nose to the grindstone, and get some good bounces.

Chisago

by my2cents
To describe the Chisago team:

Their short bench puts extra pressure on their first line which is made up of some very fast skaters and a couple that can really handle the puck. They share the puck at every chance and work toward high percentage shots. The D-men play D and minimize any chance for odd man rushes against them. They are excellent at breaking out and getting the puck in the zone quickly and creating two on ones. They move the puck well on the PP. Some players are on the small side and the team overall is not very physical.

I would guess that Blaine outshot them 25-18 or so. The game was even in the 1st. Blaine controlled play in the 2nd and most of the 3rd. Blaine scored late in the 3rd on a rush. They also hit a couple pipes and missed on a couple prime chances. Chisago also had three or four real good chances but the big goalie came up with the big saves.

Chisago is in the driver's seat to win the league and get the auto bid to regions. It's a toss-up among the top 4 at this point to say which team will come out on top in the D10 playoffs.
