Yeah, c'mon Govs, dig a little... :P
Couple of my favorites are Lakeside in Waseca, nothing too special I just enjoy playing there. Over in the Dells, Trapper's Run is a nice/fun track.

Didn't mean it as a "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE STARTED A NEW THREAD" instead was just pointing you to some suggestions that had been made already.

But since you are gonna be like this... lock it up and ban him!

My favorite is Giant's Ridge in Biwabik, the course in Fertile is only a 9 hole course but it has one of my favorite holes in golf where you tee off from a 100+ cliff.

A few years back, a group of us played Tianna GC in Walker. Course was in remarkable shape & form. Small, crowned greens keep you on your game.

The new layout at Giants Ridge is pure 'eye candy'.

Superior National at Lutsen is worth the drive.

Spooner,Wisc was a gem.

All give you a good bang for the bucks.

I agree with nine toes about Superior National!

locally I love the Chaska Town Course because I get residency rates, and know the beverage cart ladies very well and if they don't show up in time, a friend has a house just off one of the fairways with an easy access fridge :D

Oh yeah the course is typically in great shape and is always a different challenge every round you play.

I am going to have to go with maybe Interlachen in Edina or Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.

How about Deacon's Lodge in Breezy Point, MN. It's an Arny course. I had the privilege of playing there in high school. It's a top 100 course in the US(I think rated at 75th). It was pretty sweet. It's pretty long, the par 4's are pretty long, they'll definitely make you work for your pars and earn your birdies.

I love playing Troy Burne - usually try to get there once in the spring, once in the fall. Great challenge, and because of the different lenghts cut, it's visually cool to look at, despite the lack of trees.

Maple Ridge jsut south of Bemidji....

Only costs about 10 bucks and only takes about 80 minutes....

you can save money for beer and get back to it after the golf....

that's what you're there for anyways....

I don't think you can play a nicer course for the money. It's pretty long, in great shape, and best of all...affordable. Fun to play at too.
