What District will the team that wins state come out of?

If I had to choose I'd say D6 because they have Edina, EP, and Jefferson who could win it.

Anyone have the format for regionals and state?

D6 does look like they could have it, but you never know. Rochester rocked EP 4-1, and then gotten beat by Stillwater.

You've also got teams out there that will always be a threat like Centennial, Wayzata, DE, you get the picture. One bad game on any team's part could lose it all for them.

You can find the format for regions and state at minnesotahockey.org and then go to tournaments on the left side at the bottom.

Most likely. Either Ep Edina or Jefferson.

k you cant say 3 of them. because only 2 of them come out of D6 this year which is a complete joke. D6 should get 3 region teams every single year. and i dont want to hear this BS about making it "fair"

i agree gopherhockey
D6 is the most dominant district in the state and should have 3 teams come out of regions every year because that "third" team will get jipped and miss out in state

2007 West Region Tournament
Bantam A
March 2nd - March 4th
Plymouth Ice Center
Two Teams to State Tournament

Red Division
A - D3 #1
B - D5 #2
C - D6 #2
D - D6 #3

Blue Division
E - D5 #1
F - D3 #2
G - D6 #1
H - D3 #3

If the Region Tournament is correct then 3 teams qualify from District 3, 3 teams qualify from District 6 and 2 teams qualify from District 5.

D 3 Qualifiers - Wayzata, Osseo, Hopkins
D 5 Qualifiers - Pickum (From the forum have to pick Sartell based on posts from their players and then pick Mound/Westona as a long shot)
[Buffalo, Cold Spring, Crow River, Hutchinson, Litchfield/Dassel/Cokato, Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake, Mound/Westonka, Panesville/New London/Spicer, Sartell, St. Michael/Albertville, Wilmar]
D 6 Qualifiers - Eden Prairie, Bloomington Jefferson, Edina

No matter what the outcome it should be fun to watch. My guess is that EP will meet Edina in the ship with Duluth East and Centennial for 3rd place. Should be a good weekend of hockey in March.

This is region qualifiers to get to state. Will Wayzata get to the State dance in Alex? In my opinion - doubtful. They have to beat EP, Jefferson, Edina to advance and only two teams go to state from this region. Sorry, I don't see it happening. My opinion.

wingsrule, if you looked closely, it said 2 D6 teams go to one side and the otehr on the other side. so wayzata wouldnt have to beat all 3 teams, they would only have to beat 2. this will still be doubtful if they make but im just saying.

The Region Format has been altered this year. With two divisions - Red & Blue - made up of 4 teams. Each team plays each other within their division with the 1st and 2nd place teams advancing to play on Sunday. Red #1 plays Blue #2 and Blue #1 faces Red #2 with the winners both advancing to the State Tournament. Should be interesting and be a weekend of good hockey.

How can there only be two teams coming out of District 5?

I didn't even know half those programs had 'A' teams.

Jefferson lost to Minnetonka 4-0, so this narrows their chances as they will find themselves playing EP to qualify for regions.

With the new format, there are four regions and each region has 4 qualifiers for the 8 team state tourney. Personally, I'm not sure if it's fair or not the way it's set up, but it is what it is. Obviously, some regions will be stronger than others, but if you look at the way high school sections are set up, the same could be said there.

Although [FANMAN], with this new setup, the state tournament will end up with better teams rather than past years with teams like Owatonna and such...You have to at least admit that this years new setup is better than last years. Last year there was Edina, WBL, Centennial, Osseo, Orono, Blaine, Little Falls, EP, and many other great teams. It was almost as if that could've been the state tournament.

Losing to Minnetonka doesnt play any role in Jeffersons trip. I looked at the D6 website and it shows the number 5 team playing number 3. So they went from 3rd to 5th...but ended up playing the same team (Chaska). And the top three teams will go to Regions from D6 as it says in the Region format, so Jefferson, Edina, and EP will go on. From there, the #2 and #3 team from D6 will be in the same group of the same Region and the #1 team will be in the other group of the same Region. But, the winner of the two groups in that Region play each other for the championship in that Region. We may see a rematch of the D6 championship in the Region championship. Good Hockey coming up.
