Did he get to the 100 point mark tonight? He needed 6 points tonight to get it.

well the team scored 7, so i would guess he had 4 pts minimum.

I give him the up most resoect if he does. He is a very talented player, and I hope I can watch that when he goes to college.

What's the record for standing goals in a season????

I think Festler had another hat trick tonight which would put him at 56 goals on the year and he has two game left. Two more hat tricks against Sartell and River Lakes would put him at 62 after the regular season.

I am not sure of the record for standing goals, but Neal Broten holds the record for game-winning goals from his back in NCAA title games.

Does Festler have what it takes to succeed at SCSU?

As of 2/3/07 Festlet had 53 goals, so I hope after tonight that will add and add to the player that he is.

Festler is a great player like you say, but when its all said and done...
who cares?
if the team doesn't get anywhere in the big dance, and if he resembles anything of a team player, he'll see the entire season as a failure.
hockey isn't an individual sport.

Thanks for the clarification on hockey being a team sport fan4life. Why are you counting him out already? The kid is apparently talented and many people seem to agree, especially if he is going to play D1 hockey. I would say a lot of people care.
How would his entire season be seen as a failure if he resembles anything of a team player? That makes no sense at all.
Congrats to Festler on a great season!

I would guess he will play juniors next year, Motzko is unlikely to take him right out of Little Falls, so to be an '08 recruit I would imagine a year in the USHL then off to St. Cloud.

58 goals and 46 assists for 104 points. Points record for a season is 111 or 131 depending on the source. Modern goals record is generally accepted as 61. The Flyers have 1 regular season game remaining, then around 4 or so postseason games. Postseason games do count for season total records.

Festler will get well over 115 this season. His current point total of 104 is a record in that no one has ever scored over 100 points in the REGULAR season. Amazing

nothing against festler.. but look at their schedule. numerous people in MN would already have broken it by now if they were playing the same teams as little falls is

Been through the schedule thing a million times and it is getting old. How many good hockey players have played similar schedules? A lot! How many have had as many points as he is going to have? None! Sure it would be different if played somewhere else as the numbers would drop a bit (maybe) but who really knows not me and not you, so get off your soap box and deal with it. Festler is the real deal as a flyer and I can't wait for him to become a Husky.

Congrats Jared!
And not to beat a dead horse, but I want to ask all his detractors a couple of questions: How many people raised and trained in a soft section have as many points as Jared? (I'll help you out, none). What about players raised and trained in difficult sections that currently play in soft sections, how many of them have as many points as Jared? (I'll help you out again, none).
The point is, sure, others could possible have scored as many points as Jared playing LF's schedule, but all of them were raised and trained against tougher competition. Just think how good Jared could have been if he was reered at AHA, or Hill Murray, or Shattuck. He wouldn't have set any state scoring records, but he'd be an even BETTER player than he is already! And THAT is just plain scary.
Great players always stand out... period.
