Back from the warm weather

...Think the Jags might be able to return the favor from the Schwan's Cup now? Didn't do badly against Grand Rapids earlier this year.

Moorhead is a better team than GR, especially without White.

I believe the revelance was a team comparison and it was mentioned in the opening post. Anyway, I believe it could be a close game the Jags play like they have been as of late.

I don't think the set of refs on Sat. will call 10 penalties on Jefferson like in the Schwann cup, that should help

Looking back at the box score Jefferson was 1-8 on the powerplay, Moorhead was 7-10.
I saw the Moorhead vs Jefferson game at the Excel (Moorhead won 9-1)
I think someone forgot to tell Jefferson to show up for the game......I dont believe Jefferson is this bad. They have been playing better as of lately looking at their recent scores. I was not impressed with the play of Josh Levine. Either Moorhead did a very good job of neutralizing him or he had a bad game. I see this game closer than the previous game played earlier in the year. Moorhead 5 Jefferson 3.

I was at the Schwan's Cup game too and I thought the reason for all of the penalties was because Jefferson just couldn't match Moorhead's speed and had to take penalties. Unless Jefferson has gotten faster since then, I expect another wide margin of victory for the Spuds, but not as bad as the last game. I predict 5-1.
Cakewalk for the Spuds

The Sputniks have too much fire power for this seasons Jag club. Expect it to be another one sided affair. She drops off big time for the Jags after Levine and O'donnell (sp?) leave the ice.

Just a few observations/questions: If you look at Jefferson's scores...most are 1 goal losses and they have shown improvement.
Are you judging your impression of Levine from seeing 1 game or have you seen him play more than that?

moorhead's gonna kill 'em, they are playing better than they did around xmas time, at least a 7 goal game.

Shouldn't be the thrashing of last time, but Moorhead is an elite team and Jefferson is an average albeit improving team. Spuds 5-2.

although jefferson is much improved from the beginning of the season and moorhead will not be playing angry after losing in the 1st round of the schwanns cup moorhead will still take this one
spuds 4
jeff 2
moorhead is very talented this year and plays a demanding schedule

Mr. Potatohead: Its obvious you havent seen Levine play more than once, and its obvious cause your not impressed. Also, its hard to impress people when you loose 9-1.

On this one, I am thinking...
Moorhead - 6
Bloomington Jefferson - 3

Jefferson- 4
Moorhead- 4
3 Reasons:
1. Jefferson has been playing good as of late.
2. They will probably have a huge home crowd out to cheer them on and then usually have a very good student section.
3. Josh Levine
Last year at the BIG

This Spud team is a huge holdover from the team last year that got thrashed at the BIG. I remember running time at the hands of last year's mighty good Jags.
That said, I think Moorhead will have special motivation to step off the bus and into a high-flying attack on saturday. Not as bad as the Schwan, but its wont be a nail biter, either.
Moorhead 6
Jefferson 2

I believe it'll be a closer game than expected as well.....the Jags as of late tend to stick around in games but cant finish them off so im gonna say it'll be around 2-2 going into the third or something like that but moorhead will then prove why they are good but winning the third
Moorhead 5 (EN)
Jags 2
Game time??

Isn't this game being played at 2:30 on Saturday? That's the time I see on every schedule I've found for the game, but someone please let me know if it's been switched to an evening game because I plan on being there.

Moorhead is a good team this year. Congrats to their players. Not to take anything away from the spuds but they had an easy go at the schawns cup with Jefferson.
I know it was difficult for people to notice because the SC programs didn't list anything but name and number but from what I can remember most of the players taking the penalties and killing them off were the younger inexperienced players (at that point JV level). So it wasn't surprising to see MH spank the jags on the power play. Considering the players on the ice at the time not much of an accomplishment to be 7/10 on the PP.
If the jags coaches play to win - MH 5-3, if they play their young players again 7-2.

It's easy to be a "sideline quarterback". Anyway, didn't the soph's score 4 out of 5 goals in the last game? The circumstances may vary on any given day and I myself will leave that decision to people that know better than I.

I'll pick the upset:
Da Jags-4
Da Spuds 2
