5. Champlin
6. Osseo
7. Jefferson

15. Eagan

Sounds about right, could be a paper chase between WBL and Edina though. EP should win it given they have all their gay points but other than that looks like if WB gets all the pts in our next 2 games we should have 2nd, but that is still a toss up.

Fair play points really screw up the standings. Jr. Gold has done a lot of things in recent years to make this a better league, but fair play points is one of the worst things implemented. Instead of the final standings being determined by wins, they are determined by fair play points. Eden Prairie is a good team, but should not be #1 going into playoffs. Minnetonka is not a #10 team either. IT SCREWS UP REGIONS! Now a team that earned a high seed may end up playing Tonka, or Wessy when they should be playing a crap team.

Fair play points are huge in this league. I agree it may screw the standings up a little but it also reflects the better teams. The teams that can control themselves and not play cheap, like EP, will win the district. This is what the "new" style of play is trying to teach. No more big guys dominating the ice. Let the teams with skill win. Not the team that just plays cheap as gas back in day. Let the fair play help the team that respects the new rules. Now EP may not play the best but they play a controlled style. The fair play reflects that. It's no fun watching a game full of penalties. I'd rather watch a game of crisp passing with heart to win vs a game of two teams more focused on killing each other and not caring about winning.

Ep has 1st pretty much. The only way they wont get it is if the mess up big time and i dont see that happening. But 2nd and 3rd place is a toss up between Wb and Edina. Edina and Ep played tonight so thats a big game.

If Edina beats Eagan with a fair play, they clinch 2nd. WBL needs to win both of their games with fair play in each AND need Edina to not get three points in their last game.... I don't see that happening, sorry WBL.

You may not see it happening but I sure can. We'll see on Thursday.

EP-6
Tonka-0
I believe that is it for EP. They have won the Metro league for the 2nd year on a row.

Congrats on the win, helps with some fair play points though
With WBL tieing MV it looks like Edina should be able to take second.

Anyone know what the tiebreakers are?

Here is the tiebreaker list in order. This is from the Minnesota Hockey rule book.
5. In the event of a tie by one or more teams in the season final standings, the following tie breaking formulas shall be used in succession until one formula determines the position of ALL tied teams.
a. Head to head competition among tied teams including Fair Play points.
b. Most wins in league play.
c. Fewest losses in league play
d. Most Fair Play points earned in league play
e. Largest goal differential among tied teams. (six max. per game)
f. Greatest quotient; goals for divided by goals against among tied teams.
g. Largest goal differential for all league play. (six max. per game)
h. Greatest quotient; goals for divided by goals against for all league play.
i. Flip of a coin by a league official in the presence of the District Director.

If you are not good enough to beat Tonka, Wessy's, or any solid team, it does not matter if you play a "crap" team first round and beat them, you will have to get through a great team if you want to go anywhere. So if you earned a high seed and deserve to be there, prove your point, play tonka/wessy's and beat them.

You're absolutely right. My point was that if your team earned a high seed, your reward is playing a low seed. It is really not fair to teams like Tonka and Wessy who are good teams with good records, but get a low seed because of fair play points. But with all that being said your going to have to beat the best to be the best.

First off, Tonka is no good. As for what I said about the fair play point thing up further, they are a prime example of a team that doesn't deserve a higher seed because of fair play. I heard they got into a bench clearing browl with Edina. When they played EP 3 or 4 players were ejected and atleast one of them just threw out the "F-bomb You" to the ref after he was ejected. Tonka is no good. Just cheap. Fair play is a good thing. If a team was truely good, they would do it without being cheap.

You're just saying that cause your team (EP) finished first place ONLY because of fair play points. Tonka is a decent team.

It does not matter who is ranked first in the metro, it is who's ranked first in state.

And i believe that is Wb

My misstake the top 5 teams in state are 1. Edina, Wb, Ep, Cp, Duluth

I never said tonka was bad, I just said they aren't good. The fair play point was made because of teams like Tonka. Puckhead, are you from Tonka???
