The (22-4) Dodge Country Wildcats play the (20-5) Rochester Century Panthers in Rochester in the 1AA quarterfinals. Neither team really has any impressive wins, while the Wildcats do have a couple disappointing losses.

Are you kidding me? Is this really a serious poll? Century will blow the Wildcats away by 7 goals.....minimum.

Well, I'd be curious to hear from the person than voted for Dodge County then. I know nothing of either team and wanted to hear what people had to say.

Century has the 73rd toughest schedule in the state, Dodge County has the 147th toughest, both have about the same record.

Century by 5+

shouldnt be a question of who is going to win, but by how many goals will they win by? I'll be generous and say Centruy by 4

I would love to see Dodge County win being an alumni, but its going to take a miracle. DC's best chance is to have Century come out flat but I highly doubt Century will make the same mistake two seasons in a row.

I know scores against other teams mean absolutly nothing but Dodge county beat winona 7-2, 4-1 and 6-3. Century beat winona 18-0. Century has this one by 7+ i think.

To be honest the score is going to depend on the goaltending. DC could get a couple weak ones and If their goalie stands on his head (I dont even know who he is), it could be interesting. You know both teams will fight till the end no matter what the scoreboard says, thats what I love about this time of the year.

Good luck all.

On this Section 1AA Quarterfinal Match-up, I am thinking...

Rochester Century - 7
Dodge County - 3

Rochester Century by 10

It will be the same story the whole section tournament, a team will stay close to century for a period and a half then Century will pull away, no one has the depth Century does.

Before the section tournaments started I figured this would be the closest 1-8 game in all the sections, but Cloquet now should hold that honor. It will be a good game, probably the best game of any of the 1AA quarterfinal games but Century will pull away late and win by 5. 7-2 or 8-3.

All that said this is the 1 game I could see Century losing in this section. If they take DC lightly, come out flat and fall behind they may end up pushing too much and DC does have some good players to make their less than stellar defense and goaltending pay.

i think it is rediculous that the only two teams in the section with an above .500 record play in the quarterfinals. I guess I'll go with Century over Dodge 4-2.

i definatly think century will win this one quite handily, probably by 5 or more

but goldy, you say nobody has the depth century does? century plays 2 lines the majority of the time and they are two very good lines. but i watched them play lakeville north and lakeville north was playing JV kids the whole third period and century continued to primarily send just two lines and they only won this game 4-3.

no one has the depth Century does.
WOW

I hope your only talking about teams in Rochester....from the north end of town........High School......that start with a 'C' and end with a 'entury'! :D j/k

but 4real the Panth-crew has some skilled players that don't play together and 1 or 2 team guys that work hard all the time, in a bad section Century has depth any other section then 4a I don't think they are very deep.

This is a dumb thread. It won't be close unless Century's first two lines take the night off and they play with 6 skaters

Century skated 3 lines the whole game, they put the Sparks, Collins, Phelps line out there every third shift. North played the same 3 lines, basically on a 1-2-1-3-1-2-1-3 rotation. Kvasnicka/Zweber/Foster(?) played basically every other shift. When they met up with Century's top line they did really well and Century couldn't break out.

YAWN

This won't even be a contest. Century is way more skilled and will not come out flat. This is it for Grimstad, Knoepke, Wilcox, Briscoe, etc...these guys stuck together for a reason - to go to state and maybe make some noise.

Century in running time. I am going to say 9-1 because I think Century will come out fired up and take it to DC. DC showed nothing last night.
If you have 21 wins and are seeded 8th, you need to come out ticked off an bury a really bad Winona team. 6-3 proves how average DC truly is and why they deserve the 8th seed.

I can't wait for the Century semi-final on Saturday...it will be interesting to see if they can bury the puck on an excellent goalie when they have everything to lose.

Anybody heard how the Grimstad committment to GB gamblers has affected the team chemistry there at Century? Personally, I have heard that there are some behind the scenes grumblings about his dedication to the Panthers since he knows he's set up after the season is over. Just a rumor though. If there is a team insider that knows anything, please tell me that this is not true. Because everything I know about Garrett is that he is an upstanding young man. I think the rumor comes from the jealous lesser players or their parents.

Grimstad going to the gamblers has not affected anything at all. From what i know is all he is concerned about right now is making it to the state tournament with his team. The panthers are fired up for sections and will take this game hands down 10-1.
