Rogers @ Blaine 2-24-07

The (21-2-3) Rogers Royals will play the (19-6) Blaine Bengals on Saturday at noon. Early in the season Champlin Park (who Rogers just beat) took Blaine to OT. The odds are for Blaine, but anything can happen. Rogers would love the upset.

Rogers goalie plays out of his mind but Blaine pulls it out in the 3-2 double OT thriller.

5-1 blaine easily takes it down. Rogers is tired and Blaine is rested. Rogers played a good game against a fairly average cp team....doesn't mean they can beat blaine

Rogers was off their game a bit tonight, but still had enough to beat Champlin Park. Look for Blaine to take them lightly & look for the first big upset in the Boys Section play:
Rogers 4 en, Blaine 2

Whoa, a team EREmpire is actually cheering for. We know where your heart is, Rogers boy.

Zippy called it right. No way Blaine scores more than maybe 3 on the Royals. Can Rogers score more than Blaine can however is a question that remains unanswered. I will call a 4-2 Rogers Royals victory.

Rogers calmed their nerves tonight, getting their first taste of NWSC competition. Their hands are no longer clean. They now know they can hang, and will give Blaine way more than they bargained for.

Excuse me for partial and picking who I actually thought would win. If the Vikings were in the Super Bowl against the Colts, would you have put down $ on the Vikings or Colts? And if you say Vikes, then please send me your money because I'll obviously do better with it than you will.

Their goalie isn't. That can sometimes be a huge difference in a playoff game...

In my humble opinon, there is no way Blaine will take Rogers lightly. Their coaches were there watching the Rogers CP game Thursday and they will have them prepaired. I do not feel Rogers can contain the speed Blaine has and Rogers does not have the depth Blaine has. If the Rogers goalie can withstand 40+ shots saturday then maybe they have the slimest of chances. BUT, I do not see it happening.

Blaine-6

Rogers-1

Blaine- 4 (Shots- 37)

Rogers- 1 (Shots- 19)

Rogers will come out hard and get an early goal, but soon after they will lose it and blaine will dominate..

Blaine will get frustrated by the end of the 1st period (as CP did). They will then run out gas because of the frustration and will never recover.

IMO

All anyone expects is a good showing tomorrow from the Royals..they are undoubtedly the underdog in this game...but a win would be SWEET!
Good luck Royals were pullin for ya!

The bottom line is Rogers has players that would be struggling for ice time on Blaine's J.V. I mean how many of their players could even get a regular shift for the Bengals? If Rogers wins this game their coach should be promoted to the WCHA and Blaine's coach should be looking for a new job.

Bengals- 6
Panthers- 0

How much will fatigue become a factor? I heard that Rogers started to look tired at the end of the game and their 1st line was the only real factor for offense. Will Blaine be able to wear them down and just outshift them?

I'm really hoping for Rogers and cheering for them, but will their 2nd & maybe 3rd lines be able to compete?

I won't hand out any hint's
But we'll just have to see what happens.
I just love when people get so cocky and make statements like that....
They all put the gear on the same way pal.... determination and hard work and a bunch of people saying you can't, is just the right motivation an underdog needs......... so keep pouring it on...Rogers has heard this stuff for years and are uneffected by it.
Go Royals!
