Well here it is. No upsets yet, could this be the first, albeit not much of one, upset in 8A? Not just predictions here, lets explain who will win and why...

I'm going with EGF because it is in their back yard 3-2.
SB you're right there haven't been any upsets yet. However every game has been close (score wise) Even the play in games were closer than they usually are. Warroad is the favorite, but the road is slippery and dangerous. If they aren't careful they may end up in the ditch.

(the road thing is why I might not get to a game until the finals now)

EGF has it! It is their ice. They have beat TRF 2 time already. They have the motivation. They have the support. They are the team that will go to the section finals.

EGF 4

TRF 2

No empty net

TRF is way to sketchy of a team. They will either lose by a bunch or keep it close but still lose. I dont think that TRF will pull this off.

I'll take,

TRF 3
EGF 2, 2 OT

Hunt has to play A LOT better in goal than he did against DL for the defending champs to advance. For TRF to win, it has to be a low scoring game, your not going to be able to beat Christiansen that many times.

I got EGF by 2, EGF looked they best they have all year long friday night. Don't think these guys will be slowing down anytime soon, playing in front of of a home town crowd and all.

Grate says go to trfradio.com and they are doing a webcast. The first time not so good but said it would be better.

TR 4 EGF 2 Itsagonna be real interesting and intense. TR has something say about the first two games and EGF has home field.

Good one!!!!

Should be a good one!!!

I'm excited:Image

Hard to predict though because both teams have been brilliant and bad this year. In other words, inconsistent.

Just because they are at home, just as TRF was last year, I'll go with EGF by one goal, 4-3.

I see heard that TR changed up their line last game with DL. I wonder what we be up with EGF. Old lines, new lines, yet another? Adjust to the team you play or let them adjust to you? Hmmm...Interesting manuvers.
I still think TR is on a mission to quiet the wave, home ice or not.

This one will go to the Waves. They are playing pretty good hockey on their home ice right now and i guarantee you we aren't the only ones who've noticed TRF's inconsistant play this year. All of those thoughts will be in the players minds as they take the ice and they will come out playing so tight, i wouldn't be surprised if this game was 3 or 4 to nothing for EGF after the first period. Look for TRF to settle down a bit after that, but it will be much too little, much too late.

 EGF wins big over TRF :!:

sb24 you know not of wich you speak.TRf team has much more big game tourament exp.yes they did sleep walk threw some reg season games but this group shows up in big games. All the pressures on egf higher seed, home crowd, and AC has a tendancy to rattle easy under pressure, always has and will tonight.PRESSURE ALL ON EGF!!! TRF by 3

How does TRF have more BIG GAME experience? thief has went to state like 1 time in 50 years. how many times has EGF been to state?

All pressure on EGF? they have beat them twice already. and TRF needs to show that they arent as inconsistant as they have been playing. I still see EGF winning this one.

Both teams were sleep walking through the regular season. Egf was terrible early in the season (almost unwatchable). TRF has been up and down all year. They are not playing well right now and their goaltending is very questionable. EGF will win in a very close game. An ugly goal will be the decider in this one. Not Frazee ugly, but close.

I would expect this one to be full of penaltys as it always seems to be between these two, but the team who can control themselfs and take advantage of the power play will win this one. I belive TRF has one of the better power play units in section 8a

From the perspective of your argument, TRF has more "BIG GAME" experience because they went to state LAST YEAR. EGF's last trip was 2002. Now, the argument of overall state tournament appearances means absolutely nothing. Why would it matter that EGF has gone to state 7 times since 1971? Why would it matter if TRF went to state a million time in the 40s and 50s? It wouldn't. The only valid arguments I can see right now are: This year EGF is 2-0 against TRF and the other is that it's tough to beat a team three times in a season. It's gonna happen though. EGF 4 TRF 1

I agree this will be a physical, hard hitting game, but think that the outcome will rest on the two Goaltenders. Both Alex C. and Cole H. are capable of being "HOT" any given night, but are both equally as capable of being "NOT". Whichever tender brings there game will play again on thursday.

My pick:

TRF - 6 (EN Goal)
EGF - 4

I'll be in the stands watchin' can't wait!
