Personally for future years i would like to see the format of the D6 playoffs changed because it is silly how the top two seeds only have to win their first game to get to regions. And yes i know that some people will think "well if they won the district or got second they should deserve this" but i disagree. They should get rid of the Wild Card and play an 8 team double elimination tournament.

Another reason i would like to see this change is because in this district for the teams that win the first two games, if they loose it's like they didnt even win that game because they go back to the same situation as before the playoffs even started.

This year for Bantam B1's in the playoffs Burnsville went 1-2 (wich was the same playoff record of Edina White and Jefferson which i believe were both better teams then Burnsville) but because of the format, they're going to regions.

I see your point but you have to give some value to the league season and the current format does that. My problem is that with HEP points being added in the league season shouldn't have much value. In the B1 level that would mean that Edina White would have been the number 2 seed not Burnsville if you take out HEP points.

Anyway, the playoff format rewards those teams with a sweet position if they can win the first game but treats them like anybody else if they lose that first game. That's pretty fair.

Also for what it is worth, there will be years where D6 does not send 3 teams (it rotates between districts). In those years, when you are the one and two seeds and you win the 1st game but then one of you drops down to loser bracket when you play each other, the loser would HAVE to win that next game to be 1 of the 2 going to regions. It's just that this year is a year that 3 are going. Burnsville had a bad playoff but this year it doesn't matter because they won the all important first game.

I see your point, but I think the top two seeds should have to win more than one game to make it to regions. Maybe have a ten team double elimination tournament because the top seeds have to win more than one game but they also still get a by

The incentive to win during the league play is those top two seeds and a shorter path to regions since you proved your teams ability during a 16 game stretch. I don't think they should all start over and be subjected to the same equal number of games to lose as those that lost many more during the year. That is part of the reason tournaments pair top seeds against lowest seeds, because you will have an advantage in the playoffs if you earned a top seed during the season.
