Gophers vs Air Force
Sioux vs Michigan
Personally I think it is kind of a joke that the gophers and sioux ended up in the same regional again. Also a little mad the sioux ended up as a three seed and Wisconsion didnt even get in. Are some people still a little mad about the all WCHA frozen for a few years ago???

If Minnesota is the #1 overall, how the hell do they end up with this draw?
They need to revisit the geography/conference seeding b.s. At the very least, they should be opening against Huntsville, but they kept Air Force in Colorado. $$$
I guess it is what it is, but as a #1 overall, Minnesota deserved better. Whoever comes out of the West will win the title, and they will have earned it.

The sioux are a 3 seed not a 4 seed. Bad decision on the committee's part putting the sioux and gophers in the same region.

This is a joke. It may sound like sour grapes from a Gopher fan, but how do you reward the #1 overall seed by sending them for a road game against a #4 seed and putting them with arguably the top team in the country and a dangerous team in Michigan? What's the point of having a committee? All they do is follow a fatally flawed computer system's numbers and place everyone in a geographically close area, even though Denver is farther than Grand Rapids for the Gophers. They avoid intra-conference matchups in the 1st, yet set up a potential 2nd round intra-conference matchup between two of the best teams in the nation from the best conference that has won the past 5 national titles. They really need to adjust this system as it is really sacrificing the integrity of the tournament.

Couldn't agree more.

The Gophers weren't the only ones to get shafted here. Just look at the brackets: Minnesota, North Dakota, Michigan, Boston College and New Hampshire. Compared to: Clarkson, Notre Dame, Boston University, Michigan State and St. Cloud State? How does that work? Whoever gets out of the top 2 brackets will crush the clarkson/notre dame bracket winner.

You can tell they don't want another championship from the WCHA this year just like the last 5 years. Also looks like they are going to try and stop it in the Hobey Baker race to with the last 5 going to WCHA players. No matter what they try and do a WCHA team will win it again, were too good. Anybody watch the selection show on ESPN 2 this afternoon? Listening to that guy from out east you can tell they think there hockey is just amazing. How does Clarkson get a #1 seed? St. Cloud outscored them 11-2 in 2 games this year and the person on the selection doesnt even mention St. Cloud in taking them down, instead UMass. Once again the WCHA will prevail. SCSU has to come through for us out East so we can have a WCHA final. Minnesota gets completely screwed in this but they'll show they are the best team and will win no matter who they play and when. Go Gophers

No doubt, this is the toughest regional by far.
Gotta admit though, this would be awesome.....
Air Force over Minnesota
Even thought Minnesota is the #1 seed, i don't think they deserved it, the honor should of gone to the Irish of Notre Dame

Notre Dame may as well be the #1 overall seed because they have a much easier road. Michigan, Minnesota, and North Dakota all get raw deals in this tourney because the "committee" really just lets numbers spew up who gets seeded where. They should operate more like the NCAA committee where they place teams on merit and don't worry about nearly as much about computer rankings, but simply use them as a tool to place teams.

While Notre Dame had one more win this season, they did it against a significantly weaker schedule. The Gophers ended up with the 7th toughest schedule on the year. Notre Dame's schedule was ranked at 32nd overall.
The WCHA is much tougher than the CCHA and it is far tougher to win the WCHA.
I don't know what criteria you are using for your opinion but I don't see where it has much merit in terms of actual fact.

Actually got to drop it to you guys. I'm not a North Dakota native at all. I've been to the state twice in my life. I actually got to say i don't care too much for either the gophers or the sioux. But i just have never been a gopher fan. They have always been good and too often i see people jumping on their bandwagon (dont worry not blaming anyone) And for me, the sioux style of play is more exciting for me to watch with the big hits and the scraps after the whistle.
What I am saying though is that i just feel notre dame has played more consistent the WHOLE year. (with the exception-loss to Robert Morris)
Anyways i got the Eagles of Boston College taking it home. There will be no luck of the Irish happening here.

This West was set up so the WCHA has a harder time going for 6 straight championships in a row.
It is a joke that placing two WCHA teams together can only accomplish the mere thought that is going eliminate one.
Kick butt WCHA!
