Ok well y wouldnt you start briggs i mean this was there big game to go to the frozen 4. just because fraze played ok(in my opinion) against them in the wcha championship game.

who would you of started frazee or briggs and why

i would have rather started Frazee, Briggs had a really shaky game against Air Force, where he alowwed two goals he shouldnt have.

Briggs was shaky in the Air Force game, you stick with a rotation, Frazee played well, etc. Are you going to ask this question every time Frazee starts a game?

With the way the rest of the team played, it didn't matter who you put between the pipes. They were stuck on the boards all night, passes were constantly being intercepted, and the few that did get there weren't caught most of the time. It was pretty sad.

This loss isn't on Frazee.

but, i would still have started frazee, keep the rotation, and we saw that briggs didnt have his A game

It was a soft goal, but the D-men who failed to clear the zone and the forwards who were poor with their backchecks are also to blame. There's plenty to go around, but Frazee was good all night and the decision to start him was a good one.

he started frazee pretty much 2 pretty big games of the year.

i can say briggs looked shaky but he doesnt let those soft goals in the net

Briggs won't be starting anymore games.

Goaltending seems to be the biggest issue these days at the main U. It seems that they haven't had a real solid goalie who shows up for EVERY game for a few years now. It will be interesting to see if Kangas can come up big next year as a freshman cuz i don't think frazee will ever be a solid netminder. You aren't gonna go anywhere unless you have a solid goalie and the gophers certainly didn't have one the last half of the year.

I see where you're coming from, but Briggs has never proven to be a big game goalie, and has certainly let in his share of soft goals during his career. I don't think you can fault the goalie decision in this instance.

I have been a big supporter of briggs starting every game all year. Im not saying that they would have won with briggs in, but i am always an advocate of letting the senior play. How owuld you feel about sitting on the bench your senior year as a sophomore ends your season?

They rotated all year, and it worked. Frazee played plenty well enough to win.

I agree with the pick Lucia went with in this game. Briggs in my opinion played pretty bad against Air Force. He let two shots go in that should'nt have. I honestly think Frazee played rather well other than leaving the net so often to play the puck.

All in all the Gophers had a great first half and played very good at the end of this season. I did not look past this game against North Dakota because I really didn't think they gophers would win, they actually played a better game then I thought they would.

Why not start Frazee, he is a better goalie than a lot of people give him credit for. Briggs had the A on his jersey, and I'm sure he respected Lucia's decision to start Frazee in this one if it meant giving the team their best shot to win the game.

Maybe because that third line was working the hardest out of any line the last half of the year.. I didn't see any of the "star" players producing at the end of the game much either.. Lucia played that third line a lot because they worked the hardest

Mn's 3rd unit got ice time because they play good defensive hockey

Flynn is going to be an animal along the boards

the one person i blame from that loss is erik johnson. He let the guy walk around the net and put the puck in. For as much praise as he gets and how he wants to be in the NHL next year, hes gotta work on some things. He didnt impress me at all this year

I would have gone with Frazee. He lost only 2 games all year, Briggs was a little shaky in the Air Force game, and they had rotated all year and all through the playoffs. I always say you have to pick your go to guy and go with him throughout the playoffs, but if they hadnt done it by the ND game then you have to stick with what got you that far.

What kind of impact does everyone think Kangas will have next year? Will he and Frazee be 1a and 1b like Briggs and Frazee were?

Frazee proved capable of playing both brilliant and brutal .
Kangas will get a chance to play.
Play well when called on and your playing time goes up.
