possible guys leaving early.. Goligoski, Okposo, Johnson..

I hope Goligoski stays. He would be a huge asset to next years squad.

I myself believe that Johnson and Okposo will be out of there.

As for next year they will be a top 10 team but i don't think they will be as good as they were the first half of this season.

I will predict a 3rd place finish in the WCHA season
I will predict a 3rd place finish in the Final Five
They will lose in a regional final in the NCAA's

i think goligoski will stay (hoping too),
i think this team has potential to be better, all depending on how Kangas pans out. if he plays like he did in juniors and HS, gophers will be tough to beat. If he doesn't pan out, i think those predictions are accurate

My sources say the chance of Goligoski staying is about 20%.

Goligoski was drafted 61st overall in the 2nd round by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2004 draft

I would imagine it plays out something like this:

Departures:
Mike Vannelli (D)
Kellen Briggs (G)
Tyler Hirsch (F)
Nate Hagemo (D)
Erik Johnson (D)
Kyle Okposo (F)
Alex Goligoski (D)

*I added Hirsch and Hagemo since they started the season on the roster.

Incoming Players:
Mike Hoeffel (F)
Kevin Wehrs (D)
Cade Fairchild (D)
Alex Kangas (G)
Patrick White (F)
Stu Bickel (D)

Other Possibilities:
Nick Larson (F)
Taylor Matson (F)
Brandon Martell (D)

I don't think the Gophs will miss johnson much if he leaves. They will miss Okoposo if he does. Briggs will be easily replaced.

Chanhassen. He played at Minnetonka and then transferred to Eden Prairie for his senior season.

Minnesota got a commitment from Sioux Falls defenseman Stu Bickel. Bickel isn't what you'd typically expect from a Minnesota recruit since he is already 20 years old, and not necessarily what you'd consider a superstar, but I think it's a very smart move by the Gopher staff. Minnesota could lose Erik Johnson and Alex Goligoski this summer, along with the graduation of Mike Vannelli, meaning there is a lot of available ice time for next year on the blueline. Minnesota isn't the type of program where they can have a have "down year," so they needed someone that can step in and play right away without too much of a learning curve, and I don't think they'd be able to find an 18 year old kid that could do that, especially at this stage of the recruiting process.

Yes. Refer to what puckoff linked. Bickel is coming in next year barring something unforeseen.

Yes he would be. I see the Blues offered him 850,000. Seems a little low for number 1 overall. Although it beats the crap out of what I make.

isn't that all they can offer rookies? i thought that is all they could give after the lockout.
