I'm absolutely with you, except for "the sight of your tee shot coming to rest on the green of a par 3". I'm not really sure what that looks like.

One of two occasions that I'm "allowed" to plunk myself down in front of the TV, beer in hand, without interruptions. The other is the Ryder Cup. A dozen in-laws and Easter Dinner will have to "work around" coverage.

I'm juiced.

I love to play golf. I average about 1.5 rounds a week and I play as soon as the courses open and until they close in November.

The Masters is the only tournament that I will skip playing golf to watch. (not an issue this year)

It is great entertainment.

Tiger will win again.

I got out once already this year... Played Oak Marsh a week ago. I hadn't picked up a club all winter, so I was surpised when I wasn't god-awful. Didn't hit any spectacular shots, but nothing that made me want to hang myself either.

By the way... for those of you that haven't seen the Masters in HD, I highly recommend you find your way to an HD tv to check it out. It's outstanding. I never really grasped the length of that course or how narrow some of those fairways can be until I saw some camera shots down the fairway from the tee box in HD. It's wild.

I usually play 3-4 times a week, work league-9, 9-hole scramble league, and 1-2 times a weekend. Neutron 15 playing has increased my opportunities and enjoyment. We should set up the "First Annual Minnhock Open". Lets go to packerboys course and use up his entire years worth of guest passes....

I propose a scramble format. I like to play my own ball (quote it and beat me up if you want) usually, but in an event, the scramble is just a better atmosphere for having a good time.

When I was younger a pretty funny guy I used to play golf with said "I don't have a game, I have shots." Now I know exactly what he meant.

I dont have "guest passes" but would like to participate in the "Minnhock Open."

We would have to make a teetime(s) at a public course. Lets do it.

Wow, seems like all the guys really had a rough day today eh? I think they really screwed up by lengthening all the holes...sure, it makes it tougher, but peolpe would much rather watch these guys make birdies and eagles than doubles and bogeys...

Anyway, I hope big fat phil misses the cut, and I hope Tiger doesn't win. Too much hype over those guys...I'm sick of it. (I guarantee they both will be up there on sunday though.)

What about Fox Hollow or Northfork?

How about Wendigo in Grand Rapids? Decent layout, reasonable rates.
The Metro boys could make it in about 3 hrs, about the same as driving
from Marcoux.

For those of you like me who enjoy the analysis of CBS's David Feherty, enjoy this afternoon's coverage while you can. Feherty is soon to be exiled from Augusta National Golfclub just as the colorful Gary McCord was years ago for his on-air comments regarding Bikini Wax and Augusta's greens.

This afternoon Feherty said "This place is like Turnberry with trees", this is sure not to sit well with Billy Payne, Augusta National Chairman. The club has a history of issuing the proverbial red button to members of the media who report anything that could be deemed to be disrespectful towards their hallowed grounds. Comparing Augusta to a burnt out, wind swept, tidal wash linx track is sure to call an emergency board meeting this evening at Augusta.

Wow, it is not a good masters this year....cold, windy, and as I said earlier, they really ruined the course by adding all the extra yardage....it's too much like a U.S. Open now...

72 pars can win this thing.

The course is winning big time.
