With Pauly's departure, who will Minnetonka get to coach the Skippers?
What is the reaction like in Minnetonka?
Why did Pauly leave?

There is talk of Blue Breeze taking over.

I would have to say that there is a good chance Eric Johnson would apply

The reaction is one of complete dismay, shock, and a feeling of complete betrayal. How could he do this?

Pauly's departure opens up the door for a coach to step into a high profile program. Pauly was able to get the HS and youth assocaition working together to build a vision and execute.
The 2007-08 Tonka Varsity team should be a top contender for a berth at state with Edina out of the Tonka section. When this team was in their last year of bantams they were 1 period away from going to state. Top returning players include:
Anthony Raiola (D) - Select 17's
Sam Coatta (F) - Select 17's
Jake Gardiner (F) - Select 17's
Andrew Prochno (D) - Select 16's
The team is in the new "Blue" division of the Schwan's Cup in December with all of the MN Hockey powerhouses: Holy Angels, WBL, Roseville, Centennial, Hill Murray, Moorhead, and Duluth East, so the the team and the new coaches will be under a microscope early and often.

Heard Tonka recruited an EP kid over. Did he leave to hook up with Pauly?

Blueblood,
Me thinks you might be hitting the Tonka crack pipe a little much. The graduating class of 2007 went to the section finals as Bantam A's. The 07-08 Seniors lost to Jefferson early in the District 6 playoffs in a huge disapointment. The Bantam coach that year, and since then, was a Pauly protege. As their record indicates, the Bantam A team has done nothing over the past 3 seasons.

No crack pipe use going on here. But, you are right about the bantam A thing, I'm off by a year.

Providence Academy's coach may be in the mix.

EJ would be a great choice. He's been coaching those kids at Impact and the youth ranks for years.

Impact maybe the reason he won't coach the Skippers boys team.

EJ coaches the Girls HS team, he is not the type of guy to bail out on that team. To answer your question, Pauly went back to Benilde

Johnson would be great but I agree, I doubt he will leave. I feel sorry for the next coach at Tonka, they have talent but they also have extremely high expectations. If the next coach doesn't take them to the State Tournament, he'll be on the chopping block within two years.

They should be very strong at D with the kid they have moving from another high school to Minnetonka. Gardiner moving back to D will hurt their offense.
Johnson will not leave because of high school rules and his business.
