Does it ever happen?

Coaches have guys move between forward and defense pretty regularly in high school when needed. I'm curious if that ever happens with goalie; that a coach will have someone try to be one or have one try to play another position and be successful. It happens all the time in all sports with most positions, but goalie is one where you'd think it would rarely happen, so I thought I'd ask.

Remember when you were told the only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked? They lied.

I can remember it happening twice. My cousin was moved to goalie and he stood in the net and cried. Never heard how well he did, I was too young to remember. My senior year our goalie moved to forward for one game and scored a hat trick. I didn't think the question was that dum.

I know. I was going to comment on how whenever people put me down for asking the question most people don't know the answer to someone comes to the rescue, but this time that person had to ironically spell the word "dumb" incorrectly.

Austin's goalie 2 years back when not starting would suit up in jv, and ended up being one of their leaders in points
