Last time out Boof didn't have good control of the fastball and got the White Sox out with his breaking stuff. I would imagine the Angels hitters are aware of that and might sit on his breaking pitches tonight, so the key tonight could be whether or not he gets his fastball across. I know the Angels were having problems hitting earlier this year, spawning the same speculation on players to pick up as the Twins, but they've had good pitching so this series should be a lot like the A's series over the weekend.

The minnhock.com audio/video moles just infiltrated the Twins' clubhouse and to no surprise it said "hit the boofing ball" on the chalkboard. Also caught on tape was a good natured disagreement between Lew Ford and Luis Castillo over whether "boofing" should be capitalized or not. Joe Nathan wasn't sure who was winning the debate because Luis' English isn't good and Lew is just hard to understand all together.

Grady Sizemore Award candidates for this series
Howie Kendrick: 1 for his last 24 (.236)
Erick Aybar: 2 for his last 19 (.248)
Reggie Willits: 1 for his last 13

Bonser better find that good 12 to 6, sharp moving breaker or he is going to get beat up tonight.

3 easy swinging singles for the Angels in the first.

Hunter hits his 12th as the cash register rings again.

Best Bat Flippers in Twins History.
1. Puckett
2. Hunter
3. ?

Can't be Tyner.

Through 3 innings

Kubel, Hunter (twice), Morneau, and Rodriguez have all hit bullets. All Weaver has a 92mph fastball that's straight as an arrow and a decent change. Twins should abuse him by the 6th.

You are correct

Well it's good to see Kubel get his 4-3 out of the way in his second AB.

Boof catches a break, Guerrero should have been called safe at home on the Cuddyer throw.

Twins look to be back to their ways of sparadic hitting and pitching.

What a great addition.

The game last night was one of those games. Everybody will lose 60 some games and that was one of them for the Twins.

But they cannot continue to lose games like they did in Oakland. If they could have won the Silva start and taken 2 of 3 form the A's, last nights game isnt so bad.

But now they have lost 3 in a row and better get their butts in gear if they want to be 34-34.

Does anyone else think it is bad for your DH to be batting 9th.

I guess we'll see what Scott "Ricky Schroeder" Baker can do tonight. If he doesn't have more than one pitch in the arsenal, he'll end up in the training room just like Boof.

Ricky got some outs and when the dust settled the final score was a lot better than the previous night's. I can't carve up Baker too bad, these Angels are tough and should eclipse the 100 win mark by the end of the schedule.

Kotchman and Napoli are a testament to the idea that pop rather than slap in the bottom of the order makes a good team even better.

Cuddyer, Morneau and Mauer are a collective 3x38 on the road trip while Hunter continues to be the only beacon of life.

I'm ready for Rodriguez to take over the reigns at third, the 5-4-3 DP he started in the 2nd was better than great. I've been trumpeting Punto's mit but I think Luis' hand are even better. Stick Rodriguez out there everyday and see what he does, the Twins none the worse for trying and quite possibly better.
