You make a few good points, but in the long run, Roseau won a state tournament with Mr. Lee tending their goal and Eden Prairie didn't even advance to state with Mr. Leddy manning their blue line.

However, my point is: how would he get noticed by Lucia if he was out all of the time? He is an offensive D and I would imagine he was in high school as well. The offensive part takes a lot of energy. Not to mention the energy it takes in the D end of things. Keith Ballard would move from forward to D in Bantams. I am guessing he was a bit conservative on the D end until he got rested.

I can believe he played up to 60-70% of the game. Almost every minute of every game might be a stretch.

I don't disagree with you. However, I can't tell you how many seniors he skated with. I am not sure that you know that either. Eden Prairie is typically a talented team. Therefore, I am confident he skated with talented players. Obviously, Vanek was one of them. Testimonial to his abilities was the contract he signed with the Sabres

I don't agree with Boblee's logic. My point is, no one player controls the game. It's a team event. Roseau had a better team all the way around vs. Eden Prairie last year. Very few people would argue that.

I wish both players well. Time will tell where they end up.

FYI... I think Pucknutz might have the Vaneks and Vraneks of the world mixed up. Daniel Vranek played for Eden Prairie last year. He was an exchange student. I think he's playing in the USHL this year, but he DID NOT sign a contract with the Sabres. Thomas Vanek played for the Buffalo Sabres after leaving the Gophers following his Sophomore season. He DID sign a lucrative contract with the Sabres.
