MHO too. I believe Zane played in the TRF High School summer tournament. Is he Bantam eligible and playing up or was he a second year last year? Alex is a very good goalie as well.

This topic begins and ends with Mcnealy of Lakeville South. I observed him play this past weekend at the EP 3v3 tournmanent against some top end teams and he basically put on a clinic during the tournament in shutting some good teams down. This kid is the real deal.

If Graves comes out of his baseball injury with no side effects he will be #1 in D16 (IM(H)O).
Graves is a USA Hockey year younger than the other two (not that that makes a difference).
But as always a lot of good goalies in D16.

You mean Andrew Stauber Ford from the big EP! It's nice to have money!

ford may not be the best goalie in EP, hasn't progressed much

How hard would it be to play goalie in EP? You have strong players in front of you and see 10-12 shots a games once in awhile see 20. QUIT BEING SO OBVIOUS WITH YOUR PICKS. TELL US ABOUT SOMEONE WE DON'T HEAR ABOUT EVERY OTHER POST.

What teams have goalies that make them more competitive? Examples would be Woodbury last year had a below average goalie it cost them in the end. Cottage Grove had 2 solid goalies and it made them better and more competitive, Sibley had an outstanding goalie that good teams had trouble scoring on but wore him down with 40-50 shots a game.

Sibley goalie sees 45 shots lets in 5
EP goalie sees 12 and lets in 2

Who is better?

I'll nominate Centennial's goalie.

yea thats true he gets a good amount of shots. 10-12 shots is a little low he even told me he got 40 in a win a couple years ago

Ford isn't that good he's too big of a hothead when he lets in a couple of goals he blows up
Almost any bantam A goalie could play for Ep and be good but if he played for a bad team he wouldn't be that good

I've played with him for the past couple years and hes one of the best goalies for his age group. Take for example, early summer down in Chicago for the USHL Showcase Camp, he was solid the whole tournament lighting it up. And those are the top 92's in the country. Now maybe some of you guys are jealous, but hes a great goalie. Take it easy.

Believe me, they missed a lot of the best '92s in the country.

He's a good goalie, but as all at his age, has work to do.

zane gothberg D16

trust me zane isn't the PLEASE BAN ME i played behind him this is the scoop on him
2006-07

1.he got held back a year... (i think in squirts)
2. has his good days but not very consistant i think either he got exhausted or just had confidence issues
3.he starts JV
4.i find him kind of shakey when its the big game example (districts, reigons) i found him very disapointing
5.his goalie coach was a und goalie that i believe started for the und fighting souix if that matters at all his name was jake brandt
6. Now TRFs goalie is josh koop ( a major flopper)
7. one major suprise i found in zane gothberg a tournament in duluth beating mounds veiw with a 40 SHOT shutout very impressive

i was supposed to start for TRF bantam A this year but instead i jumped ship and moved with my father ( faribault )i watched him bassicly all season and honestly i think i could have beaten him out for JV but if TRF does really good in there district id be suprised if they one more than 5 serious games this season

Should also look at the 1st year Bantams coming up next year. There is a goalie Justin Quale that plays for Hopkins that has to be in top 5. He is really good. Cool - keeps his head no matter what the pressure. He will more than likely only play 1 year of Bantams. Hopkins Bantam A team 2008/2009 will be the team to watch.

Next Years Bantam A Goalies

Alex Wohl from Eastview will be a second year Bantam A. He will make them competitive again just like they were last year as Peewee A's unless some of them play on the HS team.
As for first years, Chris Mallon from Burnsville. He has stopped all but 3 of his past 150 shots in D-6 peewee A. Both played for my 94 AAA team last summer. If you want to really convulse, Chris has played goalie for only two years.

This sounds like the same BVille goalie I saw last fall in the Midwest Selects, and a month ago against Lakeville South.

He's good, maybe even better than good, but NOT a second year goalie - c'mon.
