Lapic

Lapic is by far the best. If Helgeson would have stayed then it probably would have been him but it would be hard to tell seeing that they play different positions.

Stats:
Voigt- Lourdes: scored 11 goals against better than .500 teams Definitely played the toughest schedule.
Kesti-Red Wing: scored 1 goal against better than .500 teams. 19 total goals 34 points.
Schammel- Red Wing...he is the best. Scored 11 goals against top 20 teams
Lapic- New Prague...scored 4 goals against better than .500 teams and 3 against top 10 teams. 23 goals, 44 total points.

I have seen all of them play. Have you? Schammel is a much better player. Lapic is good but does not use the ice and see the ice as much as Schammel. Lapic needs to show that he play and contribute against tougher competition. No one cares if you get a hat trick against a 3-22 team in a 11-2 blowout.

I watched Schammel last weekend at the 1A/1AA Elite 2 tryouts because I had heard that he was pretty good. There was alot of 4 on 4 scrimmaging and based on what I saw of him there, I believe that individually he is not as good as Lapic, however in a 5 on 5 situation who knows. Hopefully I get to see him in some real games this year. This section has some pretty talented juniors spread out on a bunch of teams. You just do not see a group of them at an individual school like at the large schools. Personally I like Voigt because of his overall game. Always working hard for his teammates and playing both ends of the ice.

presher-AL
helgeson-fairbult if he plays
kirby-austin
lapic- he has shown he is the best to me
these are some of the kids that i have seen play and i think they are all juniors this year.
do you know any other players from either of those teams that i might have missed. i think AL has more then just presher?

Kirby is no where near the top. Prescher is closer to the top but still far from being the best. From what I hear Helgeson is out. I would say the top 2 are Lapic and Voigt with Schammel in a close 3rd

Kirby would have a hard time making any Big 9 varsity team besides Austin. Not even a shadow of his brother

I think you guys are leaving out Cole Peterson from Lourdes. He finished the season only a few points behind Voigt. Also adding to this I watched Lourdes play multiple times and in a few of those games Peterson was the most explosive player on that whole team. I've also seen Schammel play and he is a very good player as well. And after watching the New Prague team the only kid I remember standing out was Ambroz and he is a few years from being a JR!!!!

Peterson no doubt can be explosive. Voigt Peterson and Funk were the Soph line last year for Lourdes and if the coach keeps those 3 together as Jr.s they
may make an impact in 1a. Funk finished just a few points behind the others.

Yeah Peterson is a very good player no doubt, Voigt plays hard in his own end, doesn't take any shifts off, he's one of the hardest working guys you'll find and makes others on his line that much better because his hard work in getting it out of the zone for them.

correction meritt had 16 for austin and kirby had 13 or 14 but you have to remember kirby is a defensemen.

From those stats i dont see how you argue that lapics not the best. And from seeing Lapic play i don't see how you argue that he's not the best

i 100% agree with you that lapic is one of the best

Maybe because he scored all those goals against sub 500 teams from a bad conference. he is good but the stats say that Voigt is better..much better

Unless I am missing something, Lapic is the only person of the four listed on an Elite 1 roster. What are the scouts seeing that you aren't?

Voigt is a nice player. To say he is much better than Lapic is a huge stretch

Flat. Lapic is a very good player. his numbers are good from last year and those don't tell the fact that he missed several weeks with an injury. Fact of the matter that 1A will be junior dominated this year. Lots of talented juniors for alot of the teams. It will be fun watching these kids this year. I know several of them are getting D1 looks. Most likely, most of them would have to play at least one year of juniors

There is no way Lapic is going D1.

betcha he does. If he progesses like he can, tell me why he won't. He has size, speed and work ethic. Probably the only thing he needs to learn is that he can trust his teammates and become more of a team player.

If lapic doesnt go d 1 i will be very surprised if he doesnt go play juniors his senior year i would be surprised he is just an all around good hockey player which makes him the best junior in 1a
