Well New Prague has hired coach John Barger. I know he used to coach for Burnsville and I was wondering if anyone has some info on him.

That article makes it seem like he didn't get support at Burnsville....but would lack of support lead to a suspension??
I don't know the facts of what happened...but have heard it was a non-hockey related incident.
As far as his rep. at burnsville his record isn't bad, but I do know that the people at Bville that I have talked to talk more about how Janne Kvilhamme (spelling?) has turned the Burnsville program around and fired the kids up.

Well he has to be better than the principal who screams his head off on the bench.

Amazing!
They follow up "one year and out" (or one month in this case) Ward with a guy who got run out of another school. Go for a good young energetic coach and not some re-tread.

DOMINATOR,
Are you saying that the principal would be a good coach or are you saying something else.

I know both men and I would rather play for the principal any day of the week and it is a very easy decision.
Big Mistake

New Prague had a great young team, they just ruined there program by bringing in this guy. Everyone I have talked to, past players and other coaches, has not had a good thing to say about this guy.
Why would you hire a guy (OLD GUY) that was fired from teaching and coaching in Burnsville? I would have thought NP would want to bring in a young coach to relate to the kids and help keep there program moving in the right direction, not backwards
I heard the principal new Ward, brought him in, that backfired. Now he brings his buddy from Burnsville in.....my guess - BAD DECISION for your program.

I'm not sure what all came of the situation at Burnsville, but IF the initial rumors, yes, RUMORS, as to why he was suspended/dismissed from coaching and teaching in Burnsville, I find it unbelievable that this guy is even allowed to be around kids any more, let alone find employment with another school district. I did not, however, ever hear if the rumors were true, or if it was all just a story. I don't want to state what the allegations were because I don't want to defame this guy's character with incorrect statements, but maybe somebody in B-ville could just clear us up as to whether or not it was ever found that he actually did or did not do what he was accused of. I mean, he must have passed a background check with the New Prague district right?

I was told NP had a very qualified younger candidate interview for this position. If it's who I heard can't believe he didn't get the job. Seems like a strange choice considering the past issues!

PANTHERS:
I heard talk about a younger guy who interviewed as well and I agree with you.
Can't believe they would not take him over Barger.
