I am just curious to what is really going on with the Underwood family, I heard about 3 weeks before school that they were going to Hermantown, now the word is that they are back in Coleraine, but the kids are living with family in Grand Rapids & that they are going to Grand Rapids.

Ant info on this????????

That is quite a surprise to hear. I think on an earlier thread this summer they were all but headed to Hermantown. I wonder what might have occured? Perhaps maybe a job offer fell through or maybe a home sale fell through in a very slow market. I thought I read somewhere on here that the older boy was for certain the Hermantown starter for this season.

Word from the students is that Underwood is attending Rapids High School and the parents have rented a house in GR. He will be trying out for GRHS

The best players over the years have all come from Greenway.

That's simply not true. Out of "the best" players, only one has come from Greenway. But I guess it depends on how you look at "the best."

Yeah, especially recently. Guys like Goligoski, White, Stejskal... oh wait, those guys are from GR

Bob:

I just threw that out there to see how harsh the attack would be. On a per capita measurement, Pengilly would have produced the "best" player. Just having a little fun.

OKAY, I don't disagree with what anyone has said in this topic at all, but lets really think of how GRAND RAPIDS came to exhistance.
From the people I know that live in Rapids a majority of them are all originally from Greenway and the people who have moved to Rapids from else where I don't disagree with them one bit, why would you move to Greenway the only thing there is a school and alot of pride and history.

As for Underwoods & AJ, I have heard rumors that he may not be able to play Varsity hockey, which I don't understand why he wouldn't be able too.

I know this thread is old but I do know that Underwood is playing for hermantown and not rapids in 07-08...he may not be the starter however. It is currently between underwood, tessier, citro and ampe

When you say that all of the people you know in GR originally came for Greenway, did you mean their ancestors or what? There have been quite a few born and bred Rapids boys who went out and made a name for themselves in the hockey world. The same can be said for Raider locals also. The earlier statement that all the best players from over the years have come from Greenway is a debate never to be settled. Raider Nation has there stories and opinions, and GR has the truth.
\:D/

Perhaps Underwood is running into eligibility issues with the new transfer rules.

Do we have any specific verification? Has AJ been spotted in either school yet this school year?

Underwoods

The Underwood boys are in GR.... Just hope the hockey fathers from Greenway leave them alone to pursue what they feel is best.....
I heard there was a witch hunt agenda developed at the last Greenway football game.... Just let it go... Look inside....rather than at individual hockey players to blame for the downhill slide of your program.........
Good luck to two very good hockey players................

I have heard around that you had to be living in the school district and enrolled by a certain date, anyone know anything to this.

As for Greenway's hockey program I think they knew it was going down and out after the Guyer and Sertich class was gone.

Even if Grand Rapids thinks they have the truth, where is White's dad from, along with Morris's. UUUUMMMM G R E E N W A Y

Where there parent's are from is a lot different about where they are from. If you go back in time, I bet you some of the greats from a lot of great teams did not have their father go their also. The father thing is irrelevant. Patrick never lived in or played for Greenway. Doesn't matter what his dad did. My father went to school in Fargo, so was I not an Indian in my day? Morse must be a big issue, since you can spell is name...

This is turning into a nasty debate. There has only been one non-homegrown player for the orange and black in the last few years. That was Zach Wohlers who moved from Hibbing. Everyone else grew up in the organization. Everyone of the seniors on last years team played hockey right in GR. Greenway is taking Grand Rapids players. Examples are made of Harbin and Jeremy Sobtzak. It is not the way you are portraying it. In fact, it is the opposite.

BBBBBBBLLLLLAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH BBBBBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLLAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Didn't Sobtzaks move to Greenway & the parents are from Greenway, because of the B.S politics behind Rapids, which is everywhere.
As for Harbins there family works in Greenway I think, it is the kids choice, not the parents.

That's all I wanted to hear. You are just biased towards Greenway too much to have a logical understanding of this situation.
