Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions - WEEK 2

Vikes go from playing a poor offense, good defense team in Week 1 to playing a good offense, poor defense team in Week 2. Let's see how it goes... AP will need to be big again - ball control will be the key for the Purple today - can't let Kitna sling it around all day.

I'll take the Vikes 20-17... not too confident in that though. To steal IS' reaction toward Travis Hafner... "this game makes me itchy" (at least I think it was IS').

I take the Lions 27-21.

I'll take the Vikes in OT and a low scoring game...the Lions beating Oakland is a poor indicator of just about anything, especially with both those teams ranked near the bottom in Def.
Like a poster on here says "it's up for grabs" (what's his name again) :?

Against a poor defense this will be a good week for our offense to get a real start, for Tarvaris to do some damage. Against a good offense, our defense need to play like they did play year. If they do, the steak will stay alive.

lol... Ocho Cinco just went into the Dawg Pound like he said he was going to. Got a few beers spilled on him and a couple of fingers, but he made it out alive.

Good stuff.

Jackson reaches it in for the TD. PAT is good. 7-7.

First Half Analysis
-costly penalties
-great rush defense
-no pass defense
-shaky quarterbacking

How is this season going to be any different than last?

Kitna is hurting. If he doesn't come back for the second half it could be a big boost for the Vikes. JT O'Sullivan looked better than he did when he was with the Vikings but I don't think he gives the Lions what Kitna does.

I wonder if Childress was saying to the ref what I was thinking....what's with the one sided holding calls???
If you've got a DVR go back and look at some of the take downs the Det. O line is getting away with especially 2nd qtr.
I know you could call it every play but when the guy gets taken to the ground they'll usually call it..not today? maybe they'll make em up in the 2nd 1/2.

Our secondary is pitiful  you'd think the lions receivers had ebola  with as much room as our D backs are giving them.

Try to find a positive here :-k ...Troy's return...and I suppose the hit's on the QB's

I need a beer!

The defense will need two takeaways in the 2nd half and one has to be in Lion territory, that's the only way the Vikes can win.

Agreed there too. Griffin was sitting there shrugging his shoulders, we all saw it. Wonder why it wasn't challenged.

You can give up yards and win if you get takeaways.

O needs a long time consuming drive this half.
