Best offensive defenseman.
If I had to pick a forward to start with. Danny Mattson Holy Angels.

No, that would be Marian Gaborik.
Seriously, you're asking a very broad and subjective question. Either define it more clearly, or my answer has to be: it depends.

well the exiled one i think you need to remeber that you are in a HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY forum...that shot at edinafast was unnecesary and i think you need to open your eyes a little before shootin off your mouth......
anyway i think ness is the best. great vision, knowledge of the game and pure skills.

He's got my vote!
I hope the kid continues to develop. If he can put on some muscle without losing his agility--and works on his shot... He should go all the way to the BIG leagues.

key for Ness is to keep getting better...might be the best player today but will he be tomorrow...really that is what is important...

He's in some pretty good company according to the latest scouting "TO WATCH" A player reports.
Don't think you can call him the best in the State of Hockey...yet. WRONG! He has my vote! Let's go for another defenseman for 2008 Mr. Hockey.

You could probably add Gleason and Mattson to this list as well.

I think Ness is a very good player, but I wont discredit the other "A" players listed. Toews, and Stepan are awfully good, we just don't get to see these guys very often. If you look at there stats after 15 games they both have about 30 points. Remember they are playing kids 3-4 years older then them also. My sleeper in the bunch is Barnes. I love watching him play. But I do believe that Ness is going to be a solid player for the Gophers. How about Wisco getting 3 Minnesota kids on the "A" list. Are the Gophers missing kids?

Most of which has been accomplished against Elite League teams that don't get the luxury of putting together their systems and practicing together all week like Shattuck does.
Remember they are playing kids 3-4 years older then them also.
Other than one game against an NAHL team, they have played teams of their own age.
Are the Gophers missing kids?
Most of the Gophers recruiting class for next year were already drafted in this past summer's draft.

From what I have seen, Aaron is the top defensemen in Minnesota, along with Jake Gardiner. For forwards, there is a handful of them. Pick one out of a hat and you could have your answer.

SEC9...exiled is right.....he can run his mouth...and defining the"BEST" PLAYER....yea that is broad....but Ness is a good player..for a defenseman I think he is for sure on the top of many lists

No, he can't. Seniors are the only players considered for Mr. Hockey.

Definitely top Defenseman, very possibly the best overall player in the state. I can't think of anyone i'd want more on my team.

What is the explanation to Ness not being eligible for Mr. Hockey? If he is taking grade 12 classes along with his grade 11 classes, and the scheduled graduation date to be this spring, what is stopping him from being considered a Senior and therefore eligible for Mr. Hockey?
These questions should be addressed or cleared up, because we might have a problem when Mr. Ness gives the State of Hockey a head shake by giving them a hands down decision that he should be Mr. Hockey.
Okay, that was a overstatement, but who else in recent years flies out to NTDP games on the weekends, playing WCHA teams and others? The kid didn't miss a step and with those Exhibition games under his belt, he will be fun to watch playing High School Hockey!

He flies to NTDP games on the weekends and plays in the Elite League?
Question: where does he get his Cape cleaned?

Probably gets a new one from Jay's Apparel in downtown Roseau.

Recent scores and look for Aaron Ness in the CC and Air Force (audited by 5th Line Center) games to name a few.
Do your homework!

Actually, they played the Air Force, not the Army. I didn't see Aaron's name on the roster for the games against Minnesota and St. Cloud this past weekend, though... I was a little surprised...thought that they would be "easy" games for him to get to ("only" 6 to 7 hours drive...). Perhaps he was hitting the books this past weekend?
