Yet another big WCHA early season match-up

Michigan Tech is gaining some hype this year with a stingy defense that was able to slow down UND for a night last weekend winning friday night 3-1. Goaltenders appear to be splitting time but Teslak has been impressive with a Goals against average of 1.20 and a save percentage of .948. Techs defense and goaltending faces a tough test the second week in a row as the Badgers offense has been rolling in the early going.

The Badgers stand 3-1 with a loss to Ohio State. The offense is off to a fast start with 20+ goals in their first 4 games. Connelly may be looking for his first series sweep as he has yet to win back to back nights. But I will let the following article do the rest of the talking for the badgers...

I'm going to go on a bit of stretch on this series and predict a Michigan Tech sweep in the Bradley Center. It's not going to be easy, but this veteran led Huskies club is looking like they could be the real deal and this will be a huge test to see where they are standing in the WCHA. Tech Sweep.

Tech offense pulls through while Badgers can't figure out Teslak.

Tech wins 4-2, so much for the badger sweep

For the first time this season the Badgers played their traditional style of hockey. The defensemen were much more reserved and took less chances in the offensive zone. They didnt try to pinch nearly as much as they have in their first few games. Hard to tell yet whether this is a good or a bad thing as Turris was held scoreless, and i believe pointless. While the defense held back they still committed their fare share of mistakes with some of the younger defensemen jumping up at inopportune times for costly mistakes resulting in two goals.
